Put a call in to the nurse at your surgeon’s office and describe your symptoms and see what the recommend. They may tell you to come in to the office just to get a look and listen to what’s going on. I don’t believe I’ve never had that pain and over full feeling last that long, but I’m almost 7 years out so my memory may be faulty.

Loss has slowed to a crawl!

Losing a pound a week is ... a lot ! I look at it this way... how much weight were you losing before you started this journey - before dieting to shrink your liver, before you even thought about surgery ? For me the answer was that I would lose a few pounds and put it right back, and obviously, I was gaining net weight !!!! If you lose 5 pounds a month; in a year, you will have lost 60 more pounds !!! THAT is an achievement of huge note ! How many pounds does it take to lose a "dress size" ? 10 to 15 pounds. Are you ready to lose 4 to 6 sizes in a year ? THAT is another huge victory ! We start out losing a lot of weight and forget that the weight we lose after those first few months are added to the weight we have already lost. Keep at it. You are doing great. Do not think about the WHAT IF's of a different surgical procedure. Instead think about the Where would I be without surgery ? You are fine. Your surgery is fine. Keep up the GREAT WORK !

3 months post op and I'm done.

When I went to my 6 week post op consultation ,I happened to sit in close proximity to a woman who had also had the Gastric Sleeve .She thought she looked wonderful - I thought she looked terminally ill ."I'm nearly at my wedding weight " she said proudly .I smiled and said nothing .She was the opposite of how I wanted to look .Her hair was thin and lack lustre , her skin sagging and dull .I listened in horror as she explained she was still trying to lose weight .I thought she summed up the very look I never wanted to have .Her slimness did nothing to inspire me .So I am 3 months post op .I can now walk freely , breathe better ,and I fit into my favourite jeans .I am not at my ideal BMI but if I don't lose further weight ,I'll be content .I eat more healthily and do more . So I suppose that is my story and I'm happy with it .

Good morning, I'm 4 days post op and last night in an attempt to stop a coughing fit because it hurts like hell, I think I drank too much crystal light. All throughout the night my stomach was hurting and feeling full. This morning it's not as bad but it's still there. Also my blood pressure has been running high anyone else experience this? Good luck on an April date, I hope you get it. I finished all appointments for the surgery and my insurance approved the procedure but Mayo Clinic does not have anything available until June. I hoped for April, I have to settle for June.

    Regrets?

No regrets but just be sure you have realistic expectations. A full tummy tuck can give amazing results but it does not remove ALL the loose skin. I still have some loose skin just under my boobs and on flanks.

I'm on the liver shrinking diet and my sleeve is on 2/21. From what I understand there are several variations of these pre-surgical diets. In my case I am allowed to have 'free' foods like plain cucumbers, celery, and sugar free jell-o. I am also supposed to have three protein shakes per day, and one meal consisting of 4oz of a lean protein, and 1 cup of cooked veggies. I'm almost supposed to have 64oz of water as well to keep me hydrated. (It's been really hard to do the water thing on TOP of the shakes). Not going to lie - this has not been easy, but I keep thinking about all of the time I've spent with doctors over the past 6 months getting ready for this surgery, and all of the weight I've already lost and it keeps me going. It helps me to weigh myself every other day - seeing a few pounds come off every few days is an added bonus. In 8 days I have dropped 14 pounds. If you don't have as much weight to lose, you may see smaller numbers, but if you follow the diet they gave you, I promise you'll see results in the short term - and your surgery will be here before you know it! Don't worry - you got this!!

Last time I went to a horror convention I could not stand for a long period of time or walk. I would be pouring sweat and struggling to just even breathe. I wasn’t social either at the events before just because of my insecurities. And I have to say how proud I was at this event because I was up on the go NO REST!!! Lol and I felt great!!! And super confident.

I had hot sauce on taco meat during the purred phase. A tiny bit to try it out and had no issues. So I guess my answer is 2ish weeks post op for me. Although, I was told no leafy greens until 6 weeks so I am more unsure about you eating the cabbage. Check with your team. Everyone is different, so I agree with the above statement to try new things at home in case it makes you sick.
