OK, stop cheating. Seriously. You will be glad you did. And if you have to cheat, only eat one bite of the cheat and chew it all the way down.

I remember the feeling wanting to do everything I could to prepare but I wouldn’t stock up too much. Post op many people have taste changes especially with sweet things like the protein shakes. (I had to give away two- 12 packs because I didn’t like them post op and hubby didn’t either). Anyways, Amazon has a variety pack of the premier protein that would be good to sample shakes post op. Maybe some other brands sell variety packs as well. I wish I had just stuck to those. Then you can just have shakes delivered in whatever flavor you can tolerate.

I am two months post-op and I use Premier Protein/Ensure, but the 30g premade shakes. I drink one in the morning and one in the afternoon. That gets me to 60g right there. At that point, it is easy to get to at least 75 -- one packet of tuna fish will do it. The shakes are the way to guarantee that you hit your protein goals without stressing your stomach.

Hi EsojLabina. The liver shrinking diet is hard, no doubt about that! I don't think anyone breezes through it without at least a few days of wishing the weeks away. Try distracting yourself - do some DIY, engage in a hobby, go for walks - anything to take your mind off food. Do you mean you're thinking you won't be able to eat like before? Because that is actually true. The upside is your body won't want to eat like before post-bypass, and that's the biggest tool to help change your mindset around food. But honestly, changing your mindset about food needs to begin pre-surgery, and if you have a complex relationship with food like binge-eating disorder or emotional eating, then you really need to see a bariatric psychologist to get on top of that, or the issues will follow you post surgery, and can manifest as depression.

Yup. Totally normal. That feeling for me went away around week 3.

    Any October 2021 Surgeries?

Sleeve on 13th. I’m doing ok. Getting fluids in but struggling with protein as I can only take a couple of spoonfuls of broth, and everything has a new strange taste. Trying protein shake today hoping it will go down ok.

    Not Losing

Definitely speak with your nutritionist. Are you tracking EVERY bite, even tastes while cooking add up. That was a big one for me. It may just be a dreaded stall. During stalls, your body is catching up. While you may not lose pounds, you may lose inches as things redistribute. Stick with it, it'll work out if you follow the instructions of your nut and keep exercising. Sounds like you're doing a great job!
