3 weeks post op down only 10 lbs

it's a stall. Your 500-600 calories a day is fine - and do NOT worry about calories at this point. Only focus on protein and fluid intake. you are what we call a "lightweight" and you're not going to lose nearly as fast as someone who starts at over 300 lbs. Combine that with the stall and....you're probably right where you need to be. Just stick to your plan. The weight will start to drop again once the stall breaks, and you WILL lose your excess weight as long as you stick to your surgeon's plan.

Gastritis is it common post op?

Hi Pepper, I'm at 4 months post op & I've had zero complications. I didn't have any digestive or heartburn issues going into this & I don't have any after. I'd say nothing has changed for me at all except I eat a lot less & I wish I'd done this sooner.

    Pre-op essentials purchases

I am 8 days out of pre-op and below is my experience Things I bought pre-op or immediately after that I use frequently Wedge pillow for when you get home. I ordered the day I got home because I couldn't sleep flat anymore sugar free popsicles benefiber biotene mouth spray, used that in the hospital and for a few days out, saved me. carmex lip balm 5 oz anchor measuring cup water bottle with measurements on it. Torini sugar free syrups...for decaf coffee ice cube tray - for freezing broth popsicle trays - for making your own as store bought have more carbs and calories than you realize store bought bone broths for in a pinch. Not chicken stock, Bone Broth Blender - I had this but I use this 2 x a day for the protein shakes Make sure you have extra protein like genepro to blend in to help you meet your protein goals Silly, but a basket, notepad, designated for all of your post up meds plenty of loose flowey dresses beach coverups - lucky i had a bunch but you won't want to wear a lot of clothes Loose panties subscription to myfitness pal or a good old notebook to document your liquids and proteins and everything I hate water so I need water enhancers, I used publix brand or great value brand orange soy milk - i discovered the lactose doesn't agree with me so I had to buy soy milk get your mani/pedi before because you will be wearing flip flops and not feel like bending over for sneakers Things I bought that I didn't use. I bought a kitchen scale then realized my program does not want me to use a food scale, only measuring cups 100 1.5 oz medicine cups - never used them..I thought I would track my fluid intake this way...ummm..no.. almond creamer, just don't like it Miralax..didn't need it, the colace and benefiber helps me "go"

    Hello Gay Sleevers

Hi guys, I am two years out from surgery. Now down to 224lbs (I am 6'2) but finding that I am still 25% body fat. I've been working out for the last 8 weeks at the gym but I am now wanting to get more serious with training and tracking results. If anyone is in a similar position I would love to find some one to help keep each other accountable. Cheers!

I didn't weigh until about a week out for that very reason. It's all the crap they pump into you before & during surgery. It'll work its way out of your system over the course of the first week.

We all been where you are now. There is always fear going into something new, but after a while the new become the norm. You're doing something to better yourself and that should be the focus. It might seems like you doing the along , but you got this whole bariatricpal family now to lean on for support..... remember "You got this".
