    Normal BMI this Morning!

]I am so excited this morning! I hit a normal BMI of 24.9 (145 lbs). That's a place I haven't been in 11 years. I want to thank all of you for your patience, your kindness, your honesty, your emotional support because I would have, at various points, despaired of the process, the "toad froth", the stalls, the crazy eating. SO, 13 lbs to goal, and my goal date is 5/3/18. I see my doc on 1/15/18 to see what he thinks my GW should be based, on the Fit3D scan which unfortunately shows fat, muscle & skin. I say unfortunate because the image is sooo creepy. (Like that little dancing baby meme that came out in the 90's). Thank goodness your facial features are indistinct! Any way, just a little overwhelmed to reach a goal that felt unachievable back in August when I was bawling my face off about my health. No angina, free of 14 prescriptions, a total cholesterol of 99, and trigylcerides of 93! Best I've felt in 15 years! And it was NOT the easy way, as we all know. Thank you, each & every one. Looking forward to the rest of the journey, and being a faithful maintenance person,

    Protein Shakes

I'm on day 3 of my liquid diet and Premier Protein is great since it has 30g Protein but I'm kind of tired of it. Maybe cause I ran out of all the different flavors I had and I'm only having 1 flavor. My mother in law told me about these protein waters and I wanted to share them with you guys in case Protein Shakes weren't cutting it any more lol. I decided to mix it up for lunch today and went to a restaurant (first time since surgery). After looking at the menu I played it safe and since they had breakfast all day, I got 2 scrambled eggs and 3 sausage links (smallest order they had). I ate 1.5 scrambled eggs and .5 sausage links. I rounded it out with a snack 4 hours later of .5 eggs and .5 sausage links. Sausage has been a great treat, lots of flavor without any carbs and decent protein. Normally lunch has been 4 ounces of chicken salad or shredded chicken mixed with a little bit of BBQ sauce. I'm not too adventurous...

7 days on Pre Op Diet

Head hunger is much better! My stomach is very noisy but I don’t feel it like I did days 3-4. I’m sooooo ready! If 16lbs makes me feel this great, I can’t imagine hitting goal!

    Depression after gastric bypass surgery

I hated that stage. It does get better. Try to keep a positive attitude the best that you can. It is rough and those around you don't always know how to treat you or what to say to you after the surgery. Rumors may spread (like one of them that went around about me being "sick") but you did this for you. You should feel great about yourself and what you have done. It isn't the "easy way out" that some ignorant people will say. Be proud, and just remember that your WLS family will always be here to listen and offer advise on how we handled our new lives after WLS. Please feel better.
