    Normal BMI this Morning!

]I am so excited this morning! I hit a normal BMI of 24.9 (145 lbs). That's a place I haven't been in 11 years. I want to thank all of you for your patience, your kindness, your honesty, your emotional support because I would have, at various points, despaired of the process, the "toad froth", the stalls, the crazy eating. SO, 13 lbs to goal, and my goal date is 5/3/18. I see my doc on 1/15/18 to see what he thinks my GW should be based, on the Fit3D scan which unfortunately shows fat, muscle & skin. I say unfortunate because the image is sooo creepy. (Like that little dancing baby meme that came out in the 90's). Thank goodness your facial features are indistinct! Any way, just a little overwhelmed to reach a goal that felt unachievable back in August when I was bawling my face off about my health. No angina, free of 14 prescriptions, a total cholesterol of 99, and trigylcerides of 93! Best I've felt in 15 years! And it was NOT the easy way, as we all know. Thank you, each & every one. Looking forward to the rest of the journey, and being a faithful maintenance person,

I own it. Doll myself up at work. Walk down the hallways like it's a runway and when ppl compliment how good I look or say wow you have lost so much weight. I say THANK YOU! I've lost 51lbs. I'm awesome right?! lol I just own it. I am more confident and proud of how much i've lost and how i'm looking these days! Obviously, everyone is different and others are shy or uncomfortable because we've hid from everyone and ourselves for so long in our old bodies. But now is the time to practice self love and own that you look great! xo

    Let the count down begin!!!

I have thirteen days until my surgery. Started the pre op diet yesterday. It’s going good so far but man the bathroom runs are a killer lol. Just checking to see if anyone has the same timeline as me. I’m super excited, a little nervous. I’m glad I found this community. I stayed up most of last night reading it was eye opening. I downloaded this really cool app called Baritastic. Pretty freaking awesome. Please share your pots and your peaks with me so we can make this journey more amazing. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

    VSG? Here's why

For those of you who've secretly wondered why I got the VSG as opposed to just "doing it without help" This first picture is the amount of food I could eat at one sitting X 4.. Yes, 4 of these plates before I was "full" The second picture, this is my food for the day (besides broth and sugar free popcicles) and I'm "stuffed"

I decided to mix it up for lunch today and went to a restaurant (first time since surgery). After looking at the menu I played it safe and since they had breakfast all day, I got 2 scrambled eggs and 3 sausage links (smallest order they had). I ate 1.5 scrambled eggs and .5 sausage links. I rounded it out with a snack 4 hours later of .5 eggs and .5 sausage links. Sausage has been a great treat, lots of flavor without any carbs and decent protein. Normally lunch has been 4 ounces of chicken salad or shredded chicken mixed with a little bit of BBQ sauce. I'm not too adventurous...

    Struggling with aversion

Drink some regular milk then. Maybe some medication for anxiety. And get some counseling.

I hit the three weeks stall...and had been stuck for almost two weeks. Was making me crazy. Totally empathize with those hitting one. Man, it's frustrating! Got my period yesterday and lost two pounds...and woke up this morning another two and a half pounds down! Not an ounce for two weeks....then, BOOM!...four and a half pounds. The legends are true! Be consistent, be patient. Your hard work IS counting...I promise. scale just needs a minute to catch up:)

Yes, needing every dose of narcotics on schedule 3 days out is unusual. Sorry, but it is. And it's raising red flags with the staff for a reason. The nurses were likely not giving you pain meds immediately because they might have been doing you a favor trying to help wean you off. Particularly, if your surgeon does not send home any narcotic meds. By asking for more meds, and demanding they be given as soon as possible....you are extending your hospital stay. You won't be released until you can go without them for longer and longer periods of time. Also, all of those narcotics will completely stop your gut from functioning...creating other issues which will slow your healing. You're shooting yourself in the foot. Less is better. Want to go home? Try the Tylenol. Some discomfort after surgery is good. It reminds you not to do things that cause injury.
