    Driving

I was just told no driving while in pain meds. I drove less than a week afterward- maybe 4 days. I didn't need a lot of pin meds. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

    Dry cough

After surgery, I remember coughing sometimes. Not really the coughing but the pain associated with the coughing. After a few weeks this was no longer a problem. As Myaiku said, make sure you regularly use your spirometer. Some patients have a tube placed down their throat during the operation. Here is a link to an article that describes the condition and relief from it. https://www.verywell.com/why-does-my-throat-hurt-after-surgery-3157316

When I was on my liquid pre-op and post-op diet. All I watched was Fat Dr UK and documentaries about how terrible our food supply it. It helped keep my mind off food and focused on what I was doing.

    Travel

I feel as though traveling at 6 weeks would be manageable. You may be pretty tired and I would be even more aware of your eating/vitamin/water schedule because traveling would make it easier to forget. I would have on hand protein bars, meat/jerky sticks and other high protein shelf stable foods that you can keep on you at all times. As for eating out, I eat out quite regularly and I find the best thing to do is to order a portable scale off of Amazon. I keep it in my purse and I got one with a lid so it will stay clean. I can only eat 2 oz and still remain comfortable, the scale has been perfect so I don't overeat. I stay away from the kids menu because the options are usually fried or a lot of carbs. I always share with my husband.

    Gained 2 pounds!!

What was your starting weight? Weight loss with a sleeve doesn't occur in a predictable, linear pattern. Most of us didn't post losses daily, so weighing oneself every day can be futile and pointless. With a sleeve we lose some weight, then hold onto some weight, then may stall and plateau on occasion, and may even regain a few water weight pounds before dropping more weight. The only super-rapid losers tend to be males, super-obese people with a BMI greater than 50, and young people in their teens and 20s. Most people don't lose 30+ pounds a month like a house on fire. Realistic expectations are important. Good luck to you.

    Lonely

I read the forums and comment when I feel like it- reading others posts and connecting with them will build your relationships on the site. I cruise the forums when I'm bored or want to eat something. I've made some friends that ways I have only told a few people about my surgery so here is where I connect with people who understand what I'm going through or who can help celebrate the little accomplishments. So - that said, welcome! Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 197.4 GW 135

    Lonely

Lol wish I knew. I was a hot mess the week before surgery. I spent a lot of time on here! It was wasted energy though because everything turned out great and yours should too. [emoji173]

    Calories

My surgeon said by 6 weeks he wants me at 800 a day so that surprises me. I haven't made it there yet but I've been on purees. I switch to soft foods today (3 weeks post-op).

    Im freaking out !!!

There was a research study that peppermint oil was as effective as minoxidil (rogaine) for hair regrowth and more effective at stimulating the growth phase. Hair follicles changes phase every three months from active to resting. You can make a spray with 10 drops of essential peppermint oil with a carrier oil such as almond, jojoba, coconut etc and massage it in, leave in overnight and wash out or add it to leave-in conditioner. I am going to start using this now, three months before surgery. It can't hurt at any rate.
