  1. I use to drink soda for days. I didn't drink it for 6 months at least after surgery and then I would let the carbonation dissipate in my mouth. Now, officially, a year out and I can drink soda no problem but maybe an oz or two of soda is very satisfying.
  2. I didn't lose anything for the first 3 weeks. However, a lot of that was because I developed pancreatitis. It was a letdown but it went away once I was released from the hospital.

  5. After being sleeved, I no longer drink. It still hurts too much to even try and it tastes worse now ??‍♀️
  6. I agree to focus on getting more protein than the other macros. With so limited space, protein is the most important nutrient. I wasn't getting a lot of it for a while and it can impact rate of healing, hair loss, and overall health. I am 7 months out and I am still drinking mostly shakes and my protein goal is about 100 grams of protein a day.
  7. I am taking a multivitamin, b12 complex, and Iron with vitamin c. Should I be taking other vitamins?
  8. I haven't been sick since I was sleeved but now I've been sick going on 4 weeks now. It started out as allergies and then it went to severe cold/ flu and now it is laryngitis. I am wondering if this is normal post-op or if I just have some really crappy luck. Has this happened to anyone else?

  11. I drink them every once in a while and I only drink maybe half a cup over a long period of time. I also let it flatten out in my mouth, which isn't great for teeth ??‍♀️. I would not suggest drinking it if it was a trigger in the past because of the potential calories and zero nutritional benefits it has.
  12. Yes, your hormones change a lot when losing a lot of weight. My periods have actually become regular and now because of my changing hormones, I am having cramps I haven't had since I was really young. I agree I would notify your DR.
  13. I don't chew things to a mush anymore. However, eating too quickly and not realizing how much you ate is a problem and can be helped by chewing everything a lot and slowly. I've made this mistake a couple times but I just take breaks between bites. I ate a little too much and it was painful ( I can only eat 2 oz at a time).

  16. I am 3 and a half months out. I usually have 3 premier protein shakes a day and I will go a few days without eating solid foods. I will have a slice or two of deli meat every once in a while or some fish.

  20. I can only eat about 2 oz for most things besides dense/dry food which is more like 1 oz. I actually don't really like food anymore and primarily consume protein shakes. My nutritionist doesn't like how little I am able to eat and she actually encourages me to eat more which I find shocking. I am just happy to not be able to eat nearly the amount I was able to eat before.

  23. I was cramping all the time for about 2 weeks. It then went to cramping slightly during/after eating for another two weeks.

  26. I have always naturally had thick hair but I have recently noticed my hair has become extremely thin. I used to break hair ties, now I use the little plastic black hair ties and can loop them three times and they don't break. I have a lot of hair falling out right now but I noticed that it is even and I also have hair coming back in because I have a lot of the little troll doll hairs ?. I have noticed it is different for everyone, some people don't experience loss. Be sure to take a lot of biotin. I take extra strength.
