    Anyone for October 2020?

Those sneezes and coughs are no joke! I wasn’t prewarned and had a rough allergy attack in late August. Day 1 - 6 were the absolute worst, I felt a shift around day 7 - 8 and got better and better. You’re already ahead of most if you’re monitoring your urine and electrolytes. Nice job!

    Not Having Support

Hey! This is actually an excellent point, something I never even thought about until i read your post. I just realized that my social circle remains pretty much the same post-op as it was pre-op (though I did make a couple, new, honest-to-goodness friends on this forum ❤️). Aside from the BP pals, everyone I interact with regularly knew me as obese (and most of them also knew me as a skinny person before the obesity). It definitely would have been refreshing and welcome to have a friend who didn’t talk to me about my weight loss all the time during weight loss phase, and just shoot the sh*t about regular stuff. I’m 2 years post op now, and its not so bad anymore because everyone is pretty much used to me already, but it would have been nice back then. Great advice 👍🏼

I've been in 3 times since the end of June (endoscopy, colonoscopy, VSG). Each time they were strict about wearing masks, taking everyone's temp, and sanitizing like crazy. I also had to take a covid test 4 days before each procedure. I'm not sure how often the nurses, doctors, etc test, but they all followed the required protocols and I had minimal interaction with anyone besides them so I would say in general that yes it is safe. Also one of my neighbors happens to work at a hospital and at least at his they keep covid patients on a separate floor to minimize infecting others.

Hi Everyone! I'm scheduled for my sleeve on October 28th in the Twin Cities, MN metro. Excited, but REALLY nervous. Right now I'm really looking for community and support from other people going through the same experience. So glad that I found this forum!

    Plastic Surgery Cost

I went with Hospital BC in Tijuana Mexico, they are affiliated with BariatricPal and the only U.S, owned Hospital there. I had belt lipectomy with butterfly lift, medial thigh lift and breast augmentation. Everything was included, transportation to and from the airport, 7 night hospital stay, meals 24, hour care, pre op testing, Faja (x2) compression stockings, etc. $14,350 this also included my companion. I paid $366.40 for two people to fly round trip via Delta airlines. I did have one unexpected expense around $700 but that was all. My surgery was very long. I’m in the process of recovery since I had it June 15th. My surgeon is awesome 👏 I highly recommend them. They have 24 hour valet, nurse and doctor. Even when a nurse could not speak much English I felt they communicated well, and when they needed it the valet translates. I felt safe and knew my Dr. did a good surgery and the staff took care of me despite it being a challenging time due to COVID-19. https://hospitalbc.com

    Linzess

Be careful with senna, it irritates the bladder. Although more so for me because I eventually found out I have interstitial cystitis. I tried Ayurvedic (Triphala but you can get a blend of herbs) they all say short term use. I’d rather not rely on anything but when you have a complicated medical history everything is complicated ... years ago I took zelnorm and it was good but got pulled from the market. My gastroenterologist gave me at least five medications to replace it and I tried but got very sick and I said no way. His answer well let me know if you find something that works ... linzess is good but a bit inconsistent. When all else fails it’s worth trying since it’s not a laxative. Honestly they don’t take it as seriously as you would think. I had a ct show severe narrowing of the colon. I have had bleeding. My gastroenterologist once said well unless I end up in hospital in an emergency situation then nothing they could do ... because My colonoscopies show diverticulitis. I’ve had for years usually you get them after age 60. Of course during colonoscopy they expand the colon with air they won’t see functional conditions. And they right off assume bleeding is hemorrhoids. Like I want to say that’s something natural like a cushion system to protect the bowels but it’s not natural to have bleeding. sorry to sound angry. I am having some issue that my blood labs showed elevated liver levels I need them rechecked. And very pale stools. As well as bleeding, I’m just hesitant to see the gastroenterologist I sure as heck am not having colonoscopy again why you ask? Prior to my last one I had pelvic surgery and part of that surgery was damaged by the colonoscopy. And I had to have the surgery done again to fix it. The doctor was having to go in anyway due to endometriosis and he ended up finding out for sure ive interstitial cystitis. I’m just grateful he did fix it. But it meant more incisions and stitches. stupid browser posted my message before I was ready and now I’m not sure exactly what I meant to say ...
