Stay the course! There is a misconception that having weight loss surgery is somehow the 'easy' way out. I call BS! My husband initially was not supportive when I broached the topic years ago, but after learning more about the process and the health benefits, he was on board, not because the thought of surgery didn't still trouble him, but because he wanted me to be healthy, and happy. I was diagnosed in 2017 with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and have been in remission for over two years now. Though my oncologist could not tell me exactly how I came to have Lymphoma, there were many possible causal factors, one of which? You guessed it, obesity. I knew I needed to act, and after all we'd been through my hubby was all in to make sure my remission continued. I can only speak for myself when I say that the sleeve surgery was one of the best decisions I have ever made for me, physically and emotionally. I have never been happier. Do whatever it takes to get YOU to healthy and happy.

11 month post op bloat, help!

your system might not be used to all that fiber. It can take awhile to build up a tolerance to it again. I've more-or-less built up a tolerance to it again (I'm 4.5 years out), but I still have occasional days when I overdo it and am miserable!

    Question of lower BMI patients

Hiya, I'm 5'2" and started at 235. Reached goal of 127 lbs at 7 months. I'm 114 as of this morning (1 year, 3 months post op) You can see my losses per month in the first year in my signature (or in the "About Me" section in my profile)...

    Discouraged and need advice

If you’re not happy with the results change the plan. The choice is yours - what has worked for the majority is cutting out refined processed sugars. If you remain unpleased with your progress I recommend changing it up. The choice is yours the journey is yours the results are yours. Best

    No Bowel Movement...

I went for 8 days and decided it was time for an intervention. I went out and bought a bottle of Miralax and it worked great--right before I took it, I had a BM!!! I guess just the threat to my bowels scared the crap out of them.

    Slightly Discouraged

So, one of the requirements for my surgery was to have a pancreatic cyst checked out that my GI found back in September. In September they aspirated it and said there were no malignant cells. Well, according to the doctors..by viewing the MRI the cyst contains mucinoids which could eventually turn into cancer. The characteristics of the fluid points to it being nonmalignant but they want to make an action plan...which could be surgery. I just feel kind of discouraged because of the possibility of everything being pushed back. I'm thee biggest worrier alive, so this has definitely thrown a wrench in my plan. UGH
