    Alcohol

I had one drink at a holiday party about two months out and felt pretty badly. Now, over a year out, I have about a drink every 2-3 weeks (usually whiskey on the rocks). One is enough to give me a buzz. It doesn't help with weight loss, especially if there are also snacks around. I'm such a light drinker my surgeon didn't really think it was a big deal.

    Pre surgery diet

It seems like the pre-op diet varies by doctor. Mine is 2 shakes per day plus a low fat meal - low fat meat and vegetables (no carbs). I am on day 2 - day 1 was bad for me I ate stuff not on my list. Today I ate according to the plan.

    Alcohol

Ok Coming out of the closet on this one - I was advised to stay clear of it for 3 months - I did not and still do not follow direction very well. I will have a few drinks a few times a week - But Let me say it sucks - I drink vodka with juice ice water anything i can to soften the pain, I was a heavy drinker and now just 4 oz knocks me to obliteration. However it is really rough on your stomach and you will be miserable the following day. My view is take your time feel it out, but get ready it is painful

    Are you Sleeve to RNY?

I was sleeved 2014, never met my goal weight and gained over half my weight back [emoji17]. Being revised to rny on 11/8 due to horrible GERD! My surgeon stated the revision will correct my GERD and well as jump start my weightloss. Would love to hear some revision stories. V4

I had my original surgery Gastric Bypass in 2008 and it was successful, I went from weighing 345 to 190lbs, through the course of 10+ yrs I’ve had 3 children and gained weight, I went for the revision last week, from what I was told I won’t loose as much weight as when I got my original surgery... but everyone is different so I’m hopeful. surgery was Oct 16 and I went in weighing in at 237lbs as of today I’m 228... so it’s working wonderfully and I’m feeling better.

    3 Years

Hello all, Been a long time since I was here. Lots going on. on 20 Oct 2019 it will be 3 years since my RNY surgery. I have a checkup with my bariatric surgeon today. It is supposed to be every year, but since the emergency surgery last year it has been every six months. I have stopped going to support group (I think it is great but I am not getting anything out of it). I am still about 155 lbs and am pretty happy. Still have sugar issues, but everything else is ok (per blood tests). I get to go next month for the MRCP on my pancreas (I am hoping the IPMN hasn't grown). I flew from Detroit to Pharr, TX a couple of weeks ago to pick up a Mazda MX5 (my dad gave it to me, he can't drive it anymore), and drove it 1700 miles back to Detroit. Then a little over a week later my wife's brother was killed in an automobile accident. I drove about 500 miles (from Detroit to Carthage, NY) last Thursday (so I could be at his service) and got up the next morning and drove about 500 miles back to Detroit. Not really feeling it anymore, this is probably going to be my last time seeing my surgeon. I don't need to pay him $40 to have him tell me I am doing fine. I know how I am doing. I hope everyone is doing well.
