Here is where you weigh out the risks. I bet the risk of getting reactive hyperglycemia is a lot lower than the risk of weight related heart issues, diabetes, knee and back issues... etc etc etc. So, weigh out the risks and make the call. Personally, some ultra rare issue that almost no one experiences... isn't enough of a risk to outweigh all the things that WILL happen if one continues to be overweight.

    Post op weightloss

Hey welcome! You hit your first stall, yay! Now you can get it over with. I read so many posts here about stalls and they were so, so helpful for getting me through. Let me try to help you out! It is totally normal, in fact, expected that you'll hit a weight loss stall sometime between 3 - 6 weeks after surgery. I am 4 weeks post op and I just came out of my first stall that lasted 1 week. Your body is adjusting to the new normal, your fluids are all out of whack and your body is freaking out. As you slowly increase your protein and calories, your stall will break on it's own. However, your body is still getting smaller. You are losing fat which you can measure on a body composition scale. (well priced around $35 on Amazon) Your clothes are about to be looser, you're going to have more energy and all kinds on non-scale victories are going to crop up for you. Enjoy those while the scale is acting like a turd. You've got this!

    Over eating

Proteinoholics unite. Doesn't change the fact that there is meat, meat, meat and cheese, cheese, cheese to be seen. I always cringe when people think a diet that high in animal protein is the super healthy thing to go to.

    Vomitting

Hi Sassysleve76. It sounds like your might be eating to much. Measure every you eat. My dr told me no more than 1/4 cup per meal. I thought he was nuts. I ofcourse was like I'm going to starve, but I went home and I have been measuring every and it has been working out very well. I eat no .ore than 1/4 cup and I am completely satisfied and I don't feel like I over ate or like I'm going to vomit anymore. Good luck to you. I hope that you great success.

If you're taking metformin, I assume you have type 2 diabetes. I do as well and in May my doc put me on Victoza, which causes weight loss. I lost 15 pounds just from taking that medication (brought down my A1C too)--believe it wasn't from dieting. Just a thought....
