Why shouldn't you be hungry? You're, very literally, starting to starve. I went on a rant about this idea of "head hunger". If you've eaten a nice meal of chicken breast and veggies...but you desperately still WANT a cheeseburger and fries...that's "head hunger." Needing more fuel...and having physiological signs that you need more fuel...is actual real hunger. And YES lots and lots of bariatric patients suffer it when their calorie demands are high (healing) and their intake is dangerously low (first few weeks after surgery). Many people suffer nausea...that eliminates hunger. So, they beleive that no one else feels hunger. But lots of us don't suffer any nausea, and for us hunger can be overwhelming until our diets open up to more realistic amounts of calories. I could have eaten my own leg off a week after surgery...I was THAT hungry. You're not alone:) When more foods opened up to me and my caloric intake got to be about 1000 calories a day, I felt wonderful...no more hunger. Hang in there...it gets better.

A basic backyard pool is $AUD12000 ... unaffordable for most people. A three-month pass to the local indoor swimming centre is $AUD123. No general time limits (other than closing time). I usually stay three to five hours per visit. That's better value than pool ownership.

No magical reset, but your progress is not bad. It slows down quite a bit after the first month of two. What worked for me as I get the cravings is talking about it and sticking to a habit with what I eat. Ohh and always eat your protein first. HW 309 SW. 274 CW. 217 GW 190 Surgery 09/25/17

I was sleeved 1/9/18. Things are going Ok. I was only on a pre op diet for one week prior. BariatricPal liquid for 3 days. Full liquid for 1 week and now I am entering my last of three weeks of purees (thank God). I too struggle to get both my protein and my water. I am SO over shakes so that hinders my protein intake. But overall I feel good. From starting weight (before pre op) I am down about 30 lbs with no exercise other than making sure I’m walking lots. I start soft foods on Friday and am hoping to get cleared for full exercise next Monday when I meet my surgeon for a one month follow up. I don’t have as much energy as I used to- but being down 30 pounds takes a little less energy to do things so all in all- I’m doing well. Good luck to you! It’s nice to have people who had surgery so close to mine to compare notes!

    Help please?!!

Probably depends on your state. Rulings are not always uniform. Yes Medicaid. Does approve but it does depend on your comorbities and probably your BMI also. Were you at this weight when you started? Say you were 270 at the start even if you went down to 250 it would still be okay. Hopefully your surgeon or some of his staff know where to tweak things for the maximum benefit for you. Good luck,on your weight loss journey. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you! Yea, sadly they won’t lol My calorie intake eating as I would say like a beast protein after protein yesterday was about 600. Thankfully, I realized where I was gaining all the weight gain, it was from alcohol, I could drink a bottle of wine like it’s no ones business as I cleaned my home. So I quit the fun drinking and now am just focusing on fueling my body with what it needs

    Pre-Op drinks

What kind of broth? I use this stuff called "Better than Bullion" that's pretty tasty. I put a lot of water in it, too, so it's not too salty. Sent from my Pixel using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre-Op drinks

My pre op diet consisted of 3 serves of Optifast a day either in shake, bar or soup form. I was also told to make sure I get 1 teaspoon of oil per day to avoid gallbladder issues. I was then also given a list of approved vegetables which included, broccoli, celery, onions, tomatoes, carrots, asparagus, mushrooms, capsicum, cauliflower, lettuce, cabbage and brussel sprouts. (a few other things that I can't remember off hand). I used to stirfy them up using my teaspoon of oil. Or make a salad. I only had to do the totally liquid for the day before and of course after the surgery. The purpose of this was to reduce the size of my liver and to make it softer so it could be easily moved out of the way during surgery. As others have said in this thread, please go check with your nutritionist or surgeon to make sure you aren't missing out on key things because you still need nutrition and broths won't be enough.
