    Post-Op Diabetes Question

I walked out of the hospital minus four diabetes medications. My blood sugar levels and A1c are going down. As for the other lovely diabetes stuff, I didn't have any so I can't comment.

I was cleaning out one of my tubs and I found a book that I used at the beginning of my journey (2016) to track. On the first page, I found a note that I had left myself. I remember being that girl. I remember being so lonely and unhappy. I am so proud that I was able to check off every one of the stars. It is now time to set new goals!!!

    Weight gain instead off loss

Just hang in there - we all seem to go through a flat patch - or like you, even put a bit on, in the first few weeks. A bit of extra salt might mean you retain water or something... Never fear, the weight loss starts again. Just stick to your plan, a great journey is just starting!

    Why am i hungry?

I was hungry on the liquid diet. Now a month later I have no interest in food. I have to psyche myself up to eat anything. I don’t think the liquid phase is an accurate representation of how you’ll feel long term. Your body is still trying to figure out what the heck is going on.

    Obesity Control Center

I had a sleeve from Dr Ortiz in 2013. It was the best thing I ever did for myself. My life changed for the better. I am 70 so I don't need to be a size 2 but I am very lucky that I can eat what I want and maintain a reasonable weight. My numbers are all excellent and I like the way I look. My experience at OCC was very good. My sister and brother in law are both physicians and went there. We are all great

    Help me pls !! [emoji24][emoji24]

Take away 1 shake and add more veggies. Drink water water water and do HITT cardio 3 out of the 5 days. If you don't have a gym membership then walk for 3 min and run as fast as you can for 10 seconds. Do this in intervals for 30 min. Do this for 1 week and I bet the scale moves [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

Make sure you are drinking enough water or liquids. If water is hard to drink try crystal light lemonade. Make sure you are at least walking every day if not exercising. Also make sure if you are eating it is the majority of protein in your diet, and definitely don’t go over your calorie restriction. My group of buddies was told to intake 60 grams of protein a day. The only other thing is you can become “backed up” even though you have not been eating a lot. So, miralax or the generic is what doctors recommend, just to follow the directions. Hope that helps! Good luck.

You will do great! I see my surgeon tomorrow then have lifestyles and nutrition on 9/20. Rick was intense for sure! There were a few people in orientation who were not reading along and he was quick to stop class and point it out... yikes! I get it though, this is a huge thing and everyone should be dotting their I's and crossing their T's. I want the sleeve for sure, no pouch or dumping for me. Even if I am heavier I feel the sleeve will do just fine. I like Premier Protein shakes from Costco... give them a try. Sooo good. I haven't even looked at vitamins yet, will do that this weekend. I will let you know how much weight I need to lose tomorrow when I get back from the doctors. I don't have an issue with any number he gives me. I want to be in the best shape possible when I get on that table. It's not a race even though I would like it to be done as soon as possible. I just give it to god. It will happen when it's supposed to.
