Down 75 lbs in under 6 months!!

I stepped on the scale today and couldn’t believe my eyes - I’m officially down 75 lbs! I had my SIPS (loop DS) with Dr. Roslin at Lenox Hill on July 17, 2917. The first two months were the hardest but since then it honestly has been relatively easy. I don’t have cravings anymore nor a big appetite, and I feel satisfied with small protein heavy meals. I’ve started cooking more (especially with low carb slow cooker meals that I can turn into freezer meals) and working out 2-3 times a week with a mix of personal training and cardio and interval training classes through ClassPass. To any of you thinking about having this surgery and are scared or had it and are in a rut...today any pain from my recovery period or challenges on this road (that I still have a long way to go on!) felt like they disappeared. This is so worth it. Not just because of how much better I look or fit in my clothes or small successes from being smaller, like being able to fold my arms or cross my legs or not feel winded just from walking a few blocks...but because I feel like a whole new person inside and out. I have so much more energy, am sleeping better, my skin has even improved, I’m happier, I’m more social, I’m more motivated. This is worth it.

    Kidney infection

Ouch! Give your surgeon a call ASAP. My guess is that you'll be ok for surgery, but it's best to let your surgeon know ASAP in case they want to switch you up to a more powerful antibiotic or something. Crossing my fingers for you.

    Worried

I also had surgery 4 weeks ago and have lost 19 lbs. I noticed the weightloss slow down the 3rd and 4th week. Im guessing its just my body reacting to all the changes. As long as your protien and calories are on point, weight loss should resume. I also started exercising last week to help my metabolism along! Good luck. HW 276 SW 257 GW 165

    The Stall

Being told all my life to cut down on calories in order to lose weight makes it so hard to process that now I have to eat more calories to lose weight. Maybe they should offer a lobotomy to go with the sleeve. I find that I’m drinking water all day and because it takes me so long to eat, It feels like I’m also eating all day. So I get nervous that I’m eating to much. I’m keeping a food journal so I can see what I’m eating. I know everyone is different but what are your eating schedules if any. Here is mine: 8:30 - soft boiled egg, 1/4 c cream of wheat ( 1/2 hour to eat then I have my coffe about 1/2 after) 10:30 - protein shake (1hour to drink) 1:00 - 2oz Deli Turkey, 1tbsp cooked veggies 3:00 - protein shake (right when I come back from the gym) 5:00 - 2 oz meat, 1/4 c cooked veggies (depends on what meat and veggie I make for dinner but I generally eat the same thing) 7:30/8:00 - homemade oatmeal protein muffin (no flour-recipe found on Pinterest) all the while I’m not drinking water until 1/2 after I eat but I do drink up until I eat. Phew!

    5 Day post op

Hello, I'm trying to get started on how do I go about getting this surgery started? Do I make appointment with my doctor and tell her I want this done? I've been over weight most of my life and I can't seem to lose the weight but gain it. I'm sick of being heavy and having medical problems. I'll be 50 soon and I want to be healthy and live not fat with heath problems. I'm 5'5 and around 238 lbs. I have Medicare part A and B and Tricare for insurance. I'm so lost and scared that my doctor will say no for some reason. Help!

Sounds strange to say but i didn't know what options were available to me. Before this i've only ever heard of bypass and the lap band. I wasn't nervous about the actual surgery. I was more scared of being obese forever and the health issues that comes with that later on. Once i found out about the sleeve, i was like "when can i do this? Tell what i have to do, let's get it over with"

    Sex after weight loss

So far it's better .... I think having the extra weight on ... suppressed my desire ... but now ... I feel like I can move around better and not be so embarrassed to wanna try new things .... I'm very blessed in that I have a husband who doesn't care about the weight and I could swing from the ceiling and it would be ok with him!
