    7 my days till my surgery.

    Hi I'm a Dec 18 sleever. I'm day three of my pre op fast. I need to lose 5 by the 12th to get the clearance from my nutritionist. I have hope.

    I just had a GI test where I drank something and they took X-rays to see how well I swallowed it. No scope

    If you haven't done this already, wean yourself from caffeine and carbonated beverages now. After I gave up my 6 diet coke a day habit, I suffered from a week of severe withdrawal syndrome consisting of severe headaches and body aches. I was miserable. You don't want to combine the effects of caffeine withdrawal with the effects of surgery. By making this change alone, I dropped 20 pounds pre-op.

    Two weeks post-op, looking for mentor

    I’m also in Washington. West side. I’m one week post-op. I also lost a large amount (53lbs) before surgery. I freaked out a little after surgery when I first weighed myself. I gained 8 pounds in the 3 days in the hospital. There’s no way other than retaining water. One week post op and I’m back down to my pre-op weight. I know it’s hard to turn off that part of your brain that’s been trained to watch your weight for so long, but it really is for the best. Just stick to your plan. Hope that helps.

    Few thoughts on my 7 days of liquid diet. Its scary at first, but you will be ok. Drink lots of water and take walks If you drink coffee like me, 3-4 cups a day you will need to back off before you start the liquid diet I had a headache for 3 days, day 1 was real bad but got better each day I dropped 2-4 pounds a day Biggest day was 4.5 That day I was most active and most hungry What got me through the first few days was thinking of eating again. Crazy right! I was searching for high protein low carb recipes, fun things I could eat and still keep on track Lots of cool and great ideas posted, so don’t despair. On the plus side I lost 20 pounds in 6 days You will have moments where you want to scarf, but you will work through it. Each day goes by the stronger you get.

    Don't worry, a few wings won't affect you at all, if your stomach accepted them well and this won't be your daily diet. Just keep in mind that this kind of nutrition doesn't move your closer to your goal
