It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this app. I just want to say to everyone post wls, you are successful. Take this journey and make it your own. Be selfish. Put yourself and your health first. Hold yourself accountable and trust the process. Surgery doesn’t make the emotional eating goes away. It doesn’t make it bad to eat those things that aren’t healthy. I fell into that trap of thinking I was exempt and could slide by. But I got myself together and I began to focus on healthy living. I hope this picture inspires you to go forth and become a more healthier you. Take advantage of this new lease on life. Envision how you want your journey to be and make it happen. Birth Control

I read from my surgeon that the pill will be less effective after surgery. What options is everyone exploring or what has been successful?

    3months post Op August

Happy thanksgiving Since August 2017 I have learned to listen to my body, well my tummy. Rice, oatmeal, bread r a no for me it doesn't sit good , either it comes up or it is very uncomfortable . I figured out what were sliders n that's all the foods that I need to stay away from. (Cookies, crackers n chips) So far I have been eating healthy moist foods. Im also learning not fill my plate with my eyes cuz it will take 10,000 yrs to complete it. I am scared to stretch my stomach. So far I'm down 30 lbs. starting weight was 215 down to 188lbs. It feels so good to bend climb n do ur toes. How's it going for everyone else . Sharing [emoji4]

    Sense of Smell

I'm not a DS patient, but I experienced the same thing when I was in Ketosis. I could smell the breath of everyone around me. LOL. It was horrible. Once I started eating more carbs, it dissipated. Good luck!

    I need help

Haven't read comments but what are you having to cheat. What stopped me from cheating is the fear of having a leak. You think what you ate went down fine but you have no idea if your causing damade till it's too late. Also what you can have depends from plan to plan so you should ask your team or check your paper work for what it says you can have on your next stage. It won't be long till you can eat normal food so hang in there. Sent from my Vivo 5R using BariatricPal mobile app

    Final pant/dress size?

Hi ya, I weighed in at 249#'s, on July 2, 2013. I had my RNY. I wore stretchy pants but I was in a size 22 or 24 my tops were a size 3XL. Now I weigh 125 to 130#'s and wear a size med shirt and a size 8 to 10 in Levi jeans!!! At one time around 3 years before my RNY I got up to 285#'s but managed to lose to 249 and stopped there for a couple years. I did have Strictures and needed 5 ENdoscopes with 4 dilations. They suck but it was a quick fix. BTW I got to my goal weight in 6 months. Even with eveything that happened, I would do it again in a heartbeat!!! Good Luck with whichever surgery you decide on!!
