    50 pounds gone!

Hello to everyone (pre/post, band/vsg/rny)! Had my sleeve done in Philadelphia on March 2, 2017. It was done at Temple University Hospital by Dr. Michael Edwards. I've been fortunate enough not to have experienced any problems/complications. It is now 4 months & 4 days after my surgery; I'm happy to say I'm down 50 pounds! I began this journey back in June 2016 and weighed 220 pounds.....today I weigh 170.0 pounds!!! YEA ME!!! (Still have more to lose, but YEA ME!!!!!)[emoji4] [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G935P using BariatricPal mobile app

As long has someone else will be driving then the answer is yes. I went to Home Depot, Target, Walmart, BJ's and Petsmart within 30 minutes of being released. Granted I was uncomfortable and rode around in the scooters but I would say yes. Just make sure someone else is driving. You may still feel a little out of it due to all the pain killers they provide you with.

Eating out the first time after surgery

Trust me, don't bring protein powder to add to the soup. A single meal without protein isn't gonna kill ya. Potato soup, french onion soup.. something along those lines will work well. Even ordering a sweet potato can work, just take tiny bites and keep it in your mouth until it's nice and smooth/runny. Do try and avoid anything like chicken noodle soup. It's soft, but those noodles... (maybe it's just me, but I can't handle noodles even now, and I'm 3.5 months out). Even the broth has noodle juice in it.. so doesn't work for me. YMMV

Thanks for the feedback! I contacted the surgery coordinator to see if I could have it done any earlier. I have to be at her auditions and coherent enough to give her a pep talk, etc., but really don't want to push it back a month! Fingers crossed!!

    No noodle cheese lasagna-mmmmm mmmmGood!

I'm about 4 1/2 weeks post op & on a full liquid/ very soft food diet & this is a recipe my Nut gave me along with others. I just had it tonight & it tasted great, of course I couldn't even get down a 1/2 cup but enjoyed it so I thought I'd share this. The only thing I added was black pepper & some shredded Parmesan cheese on top. 3/4 cup low fat cottage cheese 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce 1/4 tsp basil 1/4 tsp oregano 2 egg whites (egg whites should be used in recipes only-not to be eaten individually Mix together. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes until warm & egg whites are warm. Enjoy!!!
