Going into my second week post op liquids and I have become weary eating the same things that I've noticed my fluid intake has been going down. I'm charting everything and although I am still within limits of my fluid intake I've noticed it declining as the week goes on. I was on a pre-op diet for one week with the day before surgery all clear liquids. So in actuality I'm going into 3 weeks of fluids. I've had different flavors of protein shakes, some I make some are premade. I have my SF popsicles, different flavors, broths, and creamed soups. Hi All, First time posting but long time lurker:) I had my sleeve done 4 years ago. In the last year or so I have been ticking upwards in my weight but the reflux is terrible. My surgeon did not screen me for a hiatal hernia before my surgery and did a repair during my VSG. The hernia has increased in size when I had an endoscopy done last year but my insurance at the time wouldn’t cover a revision. Now I have insurance that will cover revision. I'm wondering if anyone can suggest some kind of food/snack/supplement that will give me a quick energy boost. I drink a protein shake that has caffeine (equivalent to 1 cup of coffee) once a day for breakfast. Sometimes, though, later in the evening, I feel a drop in my energy. I'm trying to keep my cal under 800, and my carbs under 40g. I don't want to consume more caffeine because it's a diuretic, and I have enough trouble staying hydrated as it is. Hi all, New here. I had gastric sleeve surgery Nov 2016, got pregnant a month later. Initial lost 76 lbs. Gained about 20 lbs back at the time of Covid until now. I have GERD and a hitial hernia so I have opted to get a revision to bypass in hopes of forever getting rid of GERD. I never got to my goal weight which was 150 lbs. I was about 16 lbs shy of that. I am about 189 lbs on a heavy day. My concern is that I wont lose as much weight because my BMI is not extreme. Anyone else out there lose more than 20 lbs getting revised being at such a low starting weight? The Dr's office of course says I may not lose any weight at all which I just can believe.

Hi, all new here. I was sent by my PCP to have a revision to my RNY. The surgeon suggests Candy Cane Revision and I asked will that help me lose weight? This jackass tells me some but stop eating so much! My 14 yr old said she wants what she is supposed to and no junk foods. He looked me dead in my face and said I doubt that. I am 268 lbs and 5'2. My Doctor along with the original Surgeon who retired and sent me to him are really PO'd about this. Should I ask for a second opinion or seek help elsewhere. Hi All! After I completed all my testings and blood work, at my followup Friday (Aug 11th) they doctor's office went ahead to put me on the surgery calendar for Aug 28th. All paperwork was submitted to the insurance company that day as well. Today the office called to inform me that my sugery was APPROVED! They nor I expected a fast 1 day turn-a-round! Now my nerves kicked in. My pre-op diet starts the next week 20th. It consists of 3 protein shakes and 1 meal per day. Today, I had a follow up on blood work. According to my PA, everything is ON POINT! He was impressed by my numbers. He said my sugar, liver enzymes, kidneys, and cholesterol were all great. Even my Vitamin D was "perfect," and he says usually people's Vitamin D isn't. My B12 was high, but I was taking an extra B12 besides my regular multivitamin, so he said just to stop that extra dose. He said my HDL was a little low, so he wants me to add healthy fats (avocado, olive oil). He also said I could stop taking chewables which was important to me because chewable vitamins add a significant amount of calories and carbs to my daily caloric intake at the moment. In May, when I started dieting, I was so happy because my hormonal (menopause) chin acne disappeared and some small flaky, dry patches on my cheeks went away. I had the gastric sleeve 4 yrs ago. I developed real bad Gerd. My surgeon said to do the revision to the gastric bypass. I’m 6 weeks post op and down only 25 pounds and my surgeon says I probably won’t loose much more because it’s a revision. I’m devastated why didn’t they tell me before I did the revision. Has anyone lost significant weight after a revision?

I had the sleeve done and only lost 30% of my excess body weight. Typically they like to see you at 60% of your excess body weight. They had me on wegovy and that didn’t work so I’m now scheduled for a bypass revision. For people in the same boat that lost some but not a lot the first time, how much did you lose after revision? I'm wondering how long any of your stalls have lasted. I'm 25 days out of surgery (sleeve to bypass revision), and I'm still at the same weight from July 3rd. Literally, not a single decimal point down. Here's what my nutrition looks like: Calories-500, Protein-60g, Carbs-<40. I'm having an issue with fiber and constipation (1 bowel movement every other day), but yesterday I started using Benefiber packets. I also ordered some protein shakes that have 4g fiber and some that have 10g fiber. I had sleeve surgery done 9 years ago in 2014. I'm 5'4" and started at 202 pounds. I lost down to 102, and looked awful. It took me until 2017 to gain back to a healthy weight of 115. I have remained in the general vicinity of 113 - 117 since. From the start I've have terrible GERD. Hey, I have had a rxy bypass 2 weeks ago and I was on liquids for one week and puree now. I have felt no restriction even with water I am gulping a glass down easily and having puree very easy with no pain or restriction. I have tried eggs and a few other little things because I freaked out with no restriction. Can I have people please help with their own story about this… does the restriction comeback?? My weight loss is stalled and I'm constipated - "Drink more water, consume less sodium" So I start watching my sodium intake and consuming 80+ oz of water a day and using Benefiber 2x a day Since Wednesday night, I'm cramping in my feet and calves in my sleep - "You're drinking too much water and that's washing out all your electrolytes" Where do I find electrolytes? - "In your food (like sodium), but you can only consume small portions because of the surgery" What the hell am I supposed to do???

So... today, my daughter and I made that TikTok chicken crust pizza at home. It was really good! I'm 1 month and 4 days out of my revision from sleeve to bypass, and I'm on regular food now. It is high in calories, but I'm sure if you choose healthier options for the ingredients, you could make it even better! I used what I already had at home because I wasn't even sure it was going to work. But there are some modifications I plan to make for when I make this again. For example, I would use reduced fat or fat-free cheeses. Those seem to be the ingredients with the highest calories. Also, I would use fresh chicken, cook it and shred it. I’m 6 months post revision on a 10 year old sleeve. I’m having terrible stomach problems. Dumping, cramping, nausea. I’m talking with my doctor and nutritionist about. They think it’s either diet or I’ve developed a post surgical IBS. They just put me on a two week course of Rifaximin. I don’t know what is safe to eat any more. Everything seems to make me sick. I had the Argon-zapping revision surgery in June 2022. I started losing weight, to the extent that people noticed. I lost 40 pounds from my pre-surgery weight. My 16th-century dresses fit better. I noticed that I would get stuck at a certain weight. I also got constipated. Getting unconstipated helped with the weight loss. At 40 pounds lost, I got stuck for a long time. I got frustrated. Hi folx, My highest weight was 383 lbs in November 2020. I have Sleep Apnea, Hypertension (Managed Well on Meds), Acid Reflux, Mild Hiatal Hernia, and Anomalous Right Coronary Artery. Hey all, I have a small hernia and GERD from sleeve surgery. My insurance is FEP Blue of MD. My doctor submitted a pre cert and FEP Blue said I needed behavioral health and nutrition visits to approve even though it’s a revision due to complications. My doctor then canceled the pre authorization and Re enrolled me to start the whole program over with again. Does this seem right ? I feel like I’ve seen other people have a very seamless process when having a complication based revision. I feel like the insurance and the doctors office is not properly communicating with me or each other. Any advice ?

I had the roux-en-y gastric bypass surgery in 2018. My beginning weight was 290 and in less than a year I was down 100 lbs. I got pregnant at the end of 2019. I gained 30 lbs during that time and lost it all after 2 months of breast feeding. I breast fed until my son was 11 months and he was ON DEMAND. I had to increase my intake to produce more milk. I now have gained over 70 lbs since I stopped and tried intermittent fasting, Golo, high protein low carbs and nothing has worked. Hi all, Im 37 and injust got my MGB revision 20 days ago. I was sleeved 10 years ago and never reached my goal weight. After babies and hormonal BC i gained a lot back. I feel surprised now tho. I feel i havent loose much these days. I just started Phase 3 and where i live (Middle east) is very hard to find sugar free, fat free products and im wondering if is the greek yogurt (flavored) and the protein drink the ones that arent helping. Both say they dont have added sugar but have sugars at the end. Also i dont feel there is really a restriction in my stomach. Just wondering what other RNY => TORe patients' Post Op diet transition was like. I did clears for 4 days then started full liquids 2 weeks then I'll do soft/mushies for 2 weeks. I'm seeing other folks extending their soft foods to 3 weeks so I'm wondering if doing that may help overall. I suppose it couldn't hurt, right?

I think I would be sleeve to bypass conversion or revision whichever you want to call it. I had my sleeve two years ago and lost down to 168 stayed there for about two months and then the appetite came back and I’ve gained it all back. I am wondering if the bypass would be any different for me. Is it ever successful the second time around. Has anyone lost weight with revision and kept it off.

I have been having terrible reflux. The dentist says I have corrosion on my back teeth… I have an appointment with my bariatric doctor to discuss an endoscopy to take a look at things in there. I’m hoping a revision will fix it. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. On their website it says BMI of 40 or 35 and higher with medical conditions. I’m at a 31. I’m worried that they won’t cover the revision. Does anyone else have BCBS and needed a revision due to reflux with my BMI? I just want relief!

I was sleeved July 2015 but within a few month acid reflux so bad but took till 2020 to get surgeon to run lots of test. Well I had a hernia at the top of my stomach so even swallowing saliva the acid would shoot up into my mouth. I’m seeing from posts here that weight loss is minimal or at least slower with that. Just wondering how much you’ve lost, the timing of it and if you had any complications. My sw prior to the first surgery was 375, in the first year I lost 100lbs getting down to 275... my lowest weight since then was 248 due to an illness. Hi all, hoping someone can help shed a little more light as I’m at a loss here. Up until the last three months, I have had no issues - but since, any time in a public setting, I will get sick to my stomach, dizzy, hot, and light headed. Yes, I take my vitamins and follow a good diet my surgeon recommends being a year out. I have an appointment set up with my surgeon however they are leaning towards an anxiety issue. My thing is, I don’t feel anxious? And these episodes have happened in familiar places around familiar people. I’m just at a loss and it’s becoming almost crippling. Any thoughts? ?
