I hate the scales!

I'm having my DH & daughter hide the scales again. I am mad at myself for even weighing. Okay, I'm done venting.   Last night I made it the gym:   30 min on treadmill 1.33 miles 2% incline 2.7 mph   Menu yesterday   Bfast - shake lunch - 1/2 container of refried beans snack - 3 crackers with brie cheese spread on top & a few bites of homemade refried bean dip dinner - 1/2 cup macorroni & cheese

I made it to the gym last night! Yay! HOWEVER, did not make it up this morning. grrrr. Still working on it, but not there yet.   My plans today:   10 am - 20 min on elliptical   3:00 pm - 20 mim on elliptical   No exercise tonight - going to a meeting and home to bed.   wt - 169.8

My 6 mo results

I weighed on 7/18 and weighed 174, then I bounced back up to 176 or 177, then down to 175 and today I was back down to 174. I want to keep track of my progress so here is what I've done so far. Starting LC today

Even though my surgery won't be until probably January, I'm not waiting around to get on a good eating program. I am hoping to lose another 20 pounds by the time the surgery rolls around.   Today's menu:   Brunch (got up at 4:30 am to get a deal at a store, then came back and went to bed and didn't get back up until 11:00 am) 2 slices of roast beef, left over from dinner last night unsweetened tea   Dinner grilled bell pepper & onions roast beef   No exercise today - but planning on getting back to the gym on Monday, or sooner   Wt this morning 235.2

I am ready for my fill - NOW!

Yes, I want it now! Its so weird, some days I have good restriction, other days or weeks - I feel like I can eat an entire cow.   Friday night we go out to dinner, I did pretty good, I had humus, and steak and a little cabbage. The steak I could only eat about 2 oz , it was really good, but I got full.   Saturday - did pretty good - no exercise, but besides that, did okay   Sunday - blew it big time - ate and ate and ate, it seemed I couldn't get enougth food. grrrrrr.   One week from today is my fill appointment. I'm really tired of fills, this will be my 10TH! I'm sick of them, I'm ready to hit the sweet spot and lose this freaken weight. I'm tired of yo-yoing - I've yo-yod all my life, I'm ready to be at goal!   Today my menu:   Bfast yogurt, granola, coffee w/cream   snack string cheese   lunch string cheese, shaved turkey   dinner salad chicken with multi-grain wrap   Exercise today: 10:00 am - 15 min elliptical 3:00 pm - 15 min elliptical   8:30 - upper body workout after workout - 4 oz protein shake   wt - didn't weigh today -

I'm back - again.

Back from my cruise and back to the Lap band eating. My eating was HORRIBLE during the cruise, and my exercise has been ZERO.   I'm refocussing and getting another fill August 6th. Until then, I'm eating lean meats, fruits and vegies and getting back into the exercise mode.   will post more later, extremely busy at work today since its my first day back.

Menu   Bfast - 2 slices of bacon, 1 boiled egg   Lunch - 1/2 of multi grain tortia wrap, filled it with baked chicken, mustard and fresh spinach leaves. very filling.   Snack - Fresh strawberries   Dinner - Spinach salad with strawberries, grilled chicken, sunflower seeds, and balsmic dressing (just a little)   Exercise - am Elliptical 20 min HIIT 3:00 pm - elliptical machine 15 min 9:00 pm - Gym, did 45 min of circuit training, worked entire body out Wt - This morning 181.4 - it is moving down, but soooo slow.

Fill #11 was a No Go!

I went for fill #11 yesterday. I thought I would walk away very tight, not. You see, about 4 or 5 days out of the month, I have the perfect restriction. I finally figured out that this perfect restriction is when I'm ovulating and on my monthly. The rest of the month, I'm open. So anyhow, yesterday, I woke up, TIGHT. Not too tight, but tight enough that I had to sip on my coffee. So I went to get my fill and I told my doc that I would be leaving on my cruise on Friday.   Well, since I was leaving on Friday, and since I had good restriction, he would not fill me! He said he felt that if he filled me I might get too tight and I would be in the middle of the ocean with no doc around to unfill me and I might be sick my entire cruise. He thought I would enjoy the cruise more just the fill level that I was. So I left the office being restricted, but no fill. By yesterday afternoon I was wide open again. grrrrr. I am so frustrated.   He did tell me as soon as I get back from the cruise he will get me in and I don't have to have an appointment and he will get me a fill. He aslo gave me some appetite supresants for the cruise so I don't gain a bunch of weight.   So, fill #11 was a no go for me. shucks! I'm to the point now that it is just going to take a few drops to get me to a good restriction level, and I'm sure during my ovulation time and monthly I will be extremely tight once I get my fill and I might even have to be on liquids during that time.   Well, I'm off to the Eastern Carribean tomorrow, Its about a 22 hour drive to Florida - there are 20 of my family members going. 6/10/09 - Day 3 of 84 day challenge

So far I've stuck to my plan. Now, I'm only on day 3, but hey, I'm still proud of myself. :crying:   I'm soooo sore today from my upper body workout on Monday, but I do a lower body workout today, so shouldn't be a problem.   I'm already seeing changes, I know it sounds impossible, but I really feel skinnier, even if the scales haven't moved much. So I know that I'm building muscle and working off some fat!   Today's plan:   M1 - yogurt mixed with cottage cheese   M2 - hummus, veggies   M3 - stuffed bell pepper (only 1/2), edamame beans, cantelope   M4 - peach, string cheese   M5 - 3 oz chicken breast, spinach   Snack - WW ice cream bar (I'm addicted to these and they are only 2 pts!)   Exercise - Lower Body workout   Wt 160.7 - grrrrr up from 159, but I'm okay, my body does that quite often. I drop, then bounce back up, then drop again a few more pounds. So I'm not upset at all.:frown:

Day 5 of my 84 day exercise challenge.

I've been doing good with my exercise challenge and I have some restriction too. I'm so happy I could cry! Its been over 18 months, but this time, I think I might hit my sweet spot. I am sure hoping it last. Usually I get a fill and it last a bit, then it disappears! I pray this one last!   Exercise today: 30 min on Elliptical (352 calories burned)   Lower body workout - Quads, hamstrings, calves, abs, inner and outer thighs)   Wt - 181.9 (Monday it was 186 lbs!) And TOM came today so I'm happy to show a loss.

Breakfast - 6 oz of light apple juice with Daily 5 mixed in   Lunch - Pasta salad, about 1/2 cup with 1 chicken tender added in   Dinner - 3/4 cup of chili, no beans, and a few fritos and cheese   Snack - No snacking   Exercise - Afternoon exercise - 30.09 min on treadmill, 4% incline, 245 calories, 1.59 distance, 3.2 mph.   Supplements - Daily 5, Multi-Vitamin, B-12, 2 thermo dynamx   Notes - Feeling good these days - need to work on my carbs and upping my protein and increasing my intensity of workout. I am going to start the body for life program, I was planning on starting it 4/30/07, however, think I'm going to start it 4/23/07. This will be right after my 3 month bandanniversary, and I can take my measurements and pictures and use those as my before pics/measurements.

Countdown starts

Wt this morning 227.4 - Scale is moving REAL slow.   Yes, today marks 1 month away from my band surgery. Its exactly 31 days until banded date. Yay.   I have to say also, I MADE IT TO THE GYM last night. Thats right, I got off my ASS and exercised.   I did 20 min on the elliptical machine, and then 10 min on the treadmill. I know its only 30 minutes, but I felt good and I will continue doing a minimum of 30 min. of exercise EVERYDAY until banding date. I'm getting my body in shape for surgery.

8/27/08

I did not make it to the gym last week, bad me! I just had too much going on, however, I'm back at it this week.   Today's menu so far Bfast - iced mocha from mcD's with skim milk - bad, liquid calories. And 1 jal pepper baked with LF cream cheese - co-worker brought it to me this morning, very good.   Lunch - Logans Steak House - I had 8 oz steak - but only ate about 2 to 3 oz of it, grilled veggies and steamed mushrooms. Did pretty good, I did not eat the bread!   Dinner - 2 oz of ground lean beef, LC tortillia, salsa.   Exercise - 10:00 am - 16 min on elliptical 3:00 pm - 15 min on elliptical 9:00 pm - 40 min on elliptical   Total calories burned - approximately 550 to 600 - You would think those darned scales would move! Those bastards!   Wt - staying off the scales, tired of watching them not move. this is so hard for me! I weigh 2 to 3 times a day and it is so depressing to me when they go up and not down. I am either weighing once a week or I will weigh when I feel like I've lost. I have such a love/hate relationship with those darned scales.:party:

8/13/09 - I love restriction!

I am loving my restriction! Its not too tight, no acid reflux and I feel full after a few bites! Yay!   I do notices that I'm wide open in the evening, but have really good restriction in the day time. I need to focus on eating good protein in the evening to help with my hunger so I don't pig out.   I also notice I snack too much, a candy kiss here, a candy kiss there, No more candy kisses! I must keep my dirty hands out of the candy dish!   Exercise - I MUST pick it up again, slacker this week.   I'm about to head to the gym now!   Menu today:   Bfast coffee w/cream 1 boiled egg 2 slices of bacon   Lunch salad with roasted chicken (candy kiss, candy kiss, candy kiss - grrrrr)   Dinner Protein shake - just not that hungry tonight.

1 year update

Well, its been 1 year (1/18/08 made a year) since my surgery. The first 6 months were wonderful, the 2nd 6 months sucked. I am not blaming the band, I'm blaming myself. I quit trying, the good news, I will never weigh over 200 lbs again. I know my band will keep me around the 170's if I just eat like I want. However, I don't want to weigh in the 170's, I am ready to get down to the 150's or 140's. So, I'm refocussed and recommitted. 2008 I will lose this weight!   Here is my updates on weight: Highest weight - 248 1 mo post op - 206.8 2 mo post op - 198 3 mo post op - 193 4 mo post op - 184.2 5 mo post op - 178 6 mo post op - 174 7 mo post op - 178 - went on vacation and ate big 8 mo post op - 174 9 mo post op - 170 10 mo post op- 167 11 mo post op - 170 - havent even been trying 12 mo post op - 174 - again, not trying. But finally refocussed.

Day three of my pouch test. For info on this check this site out - http://www.5daypouchtest.com/   Today I can have proteins, but soft proteins. So far menu as follows:   Bfast - yogurt with added protein mix   Lunch Chicken soup, mostly ate the chicken   Dinner canned white meat chicken with a little spinach dip mixed in.   Wt - didn't weigh today - yay. I'm trying to stay off the scales until Monday....

10/12/09 -

I feel like I'm back on track and doing good. I actually feel like I have a brand new motivation again with my band. I ate good all week, and I FINALLY made it to the gym on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so basically 4 days last week.   I'm forcing myself to stay within 20 weight watchers points, and weight watchers program gives you an extra 35 points to use at anytime on top of the 20 points per day. Well, I'm trying to only do the 20 points per day and not tap into the 35 points. Last week I did it, I even went out to eat 3 times and managed to stay within my points. Even went for Mexican twice last week. So needless to say, I'm proud of myself. I'm proud that I was able to maintain my control.   I made it to the gym on Thursday evening and made sure I went thru the weekend. I only did cardio, but managed to do 50 minutes on Saturday and Sunday.   This week my goal is to keep up my exercise, and add some strength training into it.   I weighed last Monday and was up quite a bit from my low of 159, I weighed in on 9/5 at 169.7 - OUCH, today I weighed in and was down to 166.5, so I lost 3.2 lbs last week by sticking to my plan. I'm hoping to lose 2 lbs this week.   I need to get to my goal and quit playing around, I'm tired of yo-yoing up and down the same 5 or 10 pounds! The only reason I go up some is I start eating slider foods, or foods that are high in calories, even though I don't eat a bunch of them, they are still high in calories and will pack on the pounds eventually. Also, I quit exercising, and sure enough, 10 pounds came piling back on!   I've set a limit of 5 lbs for myself, if I go up 5 lbs then its strict, strict bandster eating until I lose the 5 lbs. I will not let myself gain 10 lbs again before I wake up and start eating right again!

I'm headed to ONERLAND

Okay - I admit it, I weighed this morning. Only because I felt skinnier, and my DH told me I looked skinnier. So I decided to "test" the scales. I was happy to see that they have dropped 5 lbs since last Monday. I weighed in at 210.8. I'm almost to the 40 lb mark! But, More exciting than that, I'm almost out of the 200's - I'm headed to onerland!   I'm feeling good these days, feeling more confident and still I have a lot of restriction.   Menu yesterday   Bfast - poached egg with grated cheese Lunch - 1/2 container of refried beans dinner - 1/2 container of refried beans late night snack - Inside of a crabcake

6/11/09 - Day 4 of 84 day challenge

OMG, shoot me now and put me out of my pain!!!! That's exactly how I feel, my butt hurts so bad, it hurts to sit, it hurts to walk, I'm in so much pain.   Those lunges yesterday did me in for sure! I had such a great lower body workout yesterday, but I sure feel it today. Ouch, I'm hurting!   But, onward we go with the challenge, I will not quit, I will not stop, I'm going all the way to the end!   Today:   Menu Bfast - protein shake, added a TBSP of peanut butter to it   M2 - peach, string cheese   M3 - hummus, carrtos   M4 - salad, grilled chicken   M5 - turkey chilli,veggies   M6 - WW ice cream bar   Exercise - Cardio, HIIT,   Wt - didn't weigh   Notes - I'm sooooooooooo sore! :crying:

11/19/07 - Happy Monday

Happy Monday, and I'm glad I have short week at work this week. I'm off on Thursday & Friday, and only work 1/2 day on Wednesday.   Well, this morning my boss made a homemade itallian cream cake (one of my favorites), so, I had a small piece of it. I wanted more, but I wouldn't let myself indulge any more. I really want to reach my doc's goal weight for me by my 1 year anniversary - so I need to eat right! I need to lose 12 more pounds in the next 2 months in order to reach it. It will be hard, because I only lost 3 lbs this month. But, I'm hoping to be able to start exercising pretty soon and that will help.   Today's menu   Bfast 1 cup coffee with s/f carmel cream 1 2x2" cake - BAD   Lunch 3/4 cup of turkey salad   Dinner Baked turkey broccoli   Suppliments - Quickslim30, 2 chewable flinstones   Exercise - 20 min on recumbant bike, 3 sets of squats against the stability ball/wall (my Physical therapy session) total gym.

3 weeks post op

Yesterday marks my 3 weeks post op. I've lost weight, I've lost inches and I feel pretty good. My port side is still sore, it is actually has a slight burning pain today. But not too misserable.   I went to see my gynocologist and told her I had the lap band surgery, she was pleased. She has seen great progress from people. I also weighed 214 on her scales, with my jeans on and I feel constipated. So Naked, I might weigh less:clap2: .   One problem I am having is I am waking up extremely early in the mornings. I wake up refreshed and ready to go. Monday I woke up before the alarm at 5:30, same with Tuesday. Wednesday & Thursday I woke up around 4:30. Now this morning, I'm wide awake at 3:30 am! I didn't go to bed until after 11:00 - I was caught up with Larry King, Nancy Grace on the Anna Nicole death. So I probably didn't get to sleep until midnight. That means I only got about 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night. I'm not sure why I'm waking up, not sure if its the C-pap machine doing it or what? But for the life of me, I cannot go back to sleep.   I got up at 3:30, looked on the internet on Ebay - Then I found myself hungry, so I had a SF pudding snack with protein powder mixed it.   One other thing I'm noticing is in the mornings, I find myself dry heaving. Not sure why, but feel a little nausious in the mornings - NO, I'M NOT PREGO. :confused:   My menu today:   4:00 am - SF pudding with a heaping TBSP of protein powder 7:00 am - 1 egg over easy 12:00 pm - 1/2 cup of cottage cheese 4:00 pm - 8 oz protein shake 8:00 pm - soup with shredded cheese (1/2 cup)

Another Day in the Lap Band world

Things are smoothing out for me and I am now realizing it is going to be a real struggle to get the last 25 lbs off. So, I've got to focus on what I'm eating....I've been eating whatever the heck I want,but just in small amounts, I've been maintaining, but not losing. My knee is preventing me from serious exercise.   I see the doc today and I'm hoping he releases me to start doing some elliptical training, I need something to make me sweat, I need to burn calories.   My weight this morning was 174.4 - Keep bouncing from 170 to 174! I need to see 169 on the scales, soon! I've got to get below the 170's! I've got to push myself, I've got to stay away from the chocolates, I've got to use some will power, I'm weak, I tell you I'm weak these days. I cave in for anything! Head hunger is getting the best of me, I'm doing the mindless eating thing! I want to see a size 10! My size 12's fit just right, my 14's are way too big. I need to see a size 10!   Now, for a little motivation, we booked our 2008 vacation last week. We're headed to the Eastern Carribean on a 7 day cruise out of Florida. We go to St. Thomas, St. Marteen, Nassau Bahamas. So now I have something to look forward to. I would love to wear a bikini!
