Fitbit vs Bodybugg vs Bodymedia vs Jawbone Up

Recommended Posts

I am so torn about which fitness tracker to get! There are so many conflicting reviews. I keep finding myself drawn to the Fitbit Flex but how much longer do we have to wait for this thing to be released. I want something now and their website just says it will be released "Spring 2013." Does anybody have any insight? I thought I knew what I wanted but now that I've been really researching it, I'm more confused that ever! =)

Bodybugg and bodymedia are the same thing.. bodymedia makes the bodybugg..

I have the bodymedia and I love it! It syncs with MFP so MFP knows how many calories I burned and my bodymedia page knows how much I've eaten.

I've pre-ordered the Flex - just using the FitBit Zip at the moment.

I just found it on Amazon that it will ship on May 1st. Thanks! Do you like the zip? I need something to use until May.

I am researching the same thing. I am a huge samsung phone person, I have the galaxy note 2. This is why I am holding out for the fitbit flex. But the Bodymedia sounded like a really good product as well.

Is this similar to the fit bit then? Counts steps accurately and calories burned?

Ahhh lol i was torn between the fit bit flex and jawbone up. Every review said the Nike fuel sucked so that was out. Allot of reviews said the jawbone was great but allot of them crashed after about 2 months. The flex is real cool but only syncs to iPhone 4s or above and the Samsung phones and I have a Motorola Droid bionic so it won't sync. And i have never heard of the other one you guys are talking about so now i have to do my homework on that one

I got a Fitbit One just before Christmas. I like it, but found that I kept forgetting it was clipped to clothes. I returned it and preordered the Flex, but gave up waiting on that a few weeks ago, cancelled my preorder and bought a Jawbone Up. I think the Up might be a little better than the Fitbit on the sleep tracking, but I wished that it worked with MFP. It doesn't have Bluetooth synch, either. However, after wearing it for a few days, I noticed it was beginning to feel irritating on my wrist. I am just beteeen two sizes and the one I bought fit pretty snugly, but not tight. They told me that switching to a larger one might not work because it needs to be close to the wrist. I don't know if it is a size or allergy problem, so I am sending it back. I'm going to try the Flex when it comes out in May.

Amazon dot com says the Fitbit flex (the Bracelet one, right?) will be released on May 1... I have already pre-ordered mine!

I have the body bugg been using it for awhile. I wear it all the time other than showers and don't really notice it. You can link it to MFP, it measures steps, sleep and also has a workout mode on the app

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
