Frustrated with first fill!

Recommended Posts

I just had my first fill on Saturday 12/12/2009, and for the first 2 days had some restriction. I now am 3 days out and can eat anything and have NO restriction. I have a 4 cc band capacity and I was given 2 cc's. I guess I expect more out of this because everything I have put into it. Please help me with some encouragement. I have heard it takes a few adjustments to get an adaquete fill level, but would really love to get this band working and losing weight. Please give me some advice. Thank you in advance.

Thank you! I have been consuming large amounts of food. As if I didn't have the fill. I really want this to happen. Can't wait to see the difference in the 2nd fill. And I hope I won't be saying this after that fill. Guess I will have to wait another month.

Hi, I just had my 4th fill. I have 8.5cc in an 11cc band. I had great restriction on my last fill (DEC 9.2009) for 4 days then it went away. This fill 12/30/09 .5cc. I don't feel the tightness soon like I did last time but I can go longer between meals. I think I'm getting close to the sweet spot. I've read most people don't reach their sweet spot until the 4-5 fill. I try to get my fills every 3 weeks b/c I hated bandster hell. Do your best it will come. Barb

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
