Christmas Weightloss Challenge

Recommended Posts

Ok count me in. I had my surgery on 10/23/09. I'm already down 36lbs. Even though I know I won't be losing it as fast as many people because I am in "banders hell" right now, I would like to at least lost another 10lbs by Christmas. My co-workers have made it a habit to get me to the cardio lab and work on the machines at least 3 days a week for 30 minutes. I'm using my Wii fit as much as possible and walking at least 2 miles inbetween the days I'm not on the fit or working in the cardio lab. I look forward to hearing about everyone's progress.

Thanks Sandi1011 and that is a good idea. Let all weigh in and report our official weight loss once a week on Mondays. Good luck everyone. I started using my wii fit again today. I forgot how good exercise can make you feel. I might actually do it again tonight.

I went to the dr last Wed and I told them I want to be at 200 by the new year. So I'm in and I will try my hardest to lose 14lbs. I have been losing about 1lb a week and over the holidays it will be really hard, but I can do it.:tongue2:

Hi, I would like in also. I just don't know if 20 lbs is do-able. I have my first post-op visit with the surgeon tomorrow a.m. so I will have an official weigh in to start with. I was banded 10/19/09. It will be at least another 3 weeks before I get my first fill, but I think if I get my butt off the couch and start moving, I can do this! Thanks everyone for the motivation!!! Kind of nervous about weigh in tomorrow. I have purposely not stood on a scale since the day of my surgery!

Okay, count me in. I will try to lose 20lbs, but if I exercise and lose anything, then I will consider myself a winner.

I'm in too... I really need this and a group of people to help support me. I'm only losing about 1 lb per week so I'm going to say my goal is 10-15 lbs. I go for a fill on Monday so I know that will help. If I can hit the 15 by christmas I'll be close to being under 200 yippeeeee.

I am so in. I've been at a stand still for months but I've just started running. I ran 2.4 miles yesterday. So I hope the new work outs will kick start my weight loss. Keep up the good work everyone.

Fluffy Jen - what about creating a Social Group under the community section we we can all keep in touch on how we are doing with our challenge? I'd be happy to create it.

Hi everyone, well today I had my first post-op visit with the surgeon. I have to wait 4 more weeks for my first fill. However, I would like to commit to the 20 pounds as I didn't really state what my goal would be. Great idea on posting our loss on Mondays and thanks Jen for taking care of all the results!!!

dyer530 - If you would like to create a social group that would be fine. I really don't know how to do that. If you would post how to get to it after it is created, that would be great.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
