How many cc's do you have? How many fills so far?

Recommended Posts

Hey Ladies,

I hope you all are doing well! I had my first fill this Tuesday. It was 2 CC' s. I still don't have much restriction. I am at 191/Size 14. My loss could have been greater, but my sweet tooth is a MONSTER! The fill was like a big pinch. I return in February for my 6 mth post-op and 2nd fill.

I received my 2nd fill last Tuesday 1.2ml, still not feeling any real restriction. The Dr. told me to come back in 8 weeks. Well, I'm taking matters in my own hands now and have scheduled my next appt for 4 weeks. I think that 8wks is a long time to wait. The LAP-BAND®® website says fills should be done every 4-6 wks - needless to say, I'll point this out to the Dr. when I return should he decide to give me any grief. I have a total of 6.2ml in a 14ml band and think that perhaps one more tiny fill may get me to the sweet spot.

Crossing my fingers...

I'm also kinda down and out these days as I've seemed to reach a plateau - I've been averaging 198-199 for the past 3-weeks. Ready to scream. Sorry for venting.

I just received my third fill yesterday of .6cc's that puts me at 5.6cc's (I made a mistake earlier and said I was at 5.5 but I was at 5cc's).

I was feeling some restriction before but today I definitely feel it! I am on liquids and hope that I will be able to eat some in the next day or so.

I lost 7lbs in the past month without really trying. My mom had surgery and I was taking care of her (and making dinners), I have been working a lot and not exercising, so.. all considering I feel VERY successful for this past month.

I am starting with a personal trainer on December 1st, which I know will be good for me. That should kickstart me into a good workout routine.

I am so happy I had the surgery.. everyone here seems to be doing so well, congrats to us all!!

I have had 3 fills and I have 7.5cc in my 10cc band. Unfortunately, I'm not at the sweet spot yet, I can still eat a lot. But I have lost around 37lbs total so far and I'm happy with that! Good Job Guys!!

I have 4.5 cc in right now. I go on 12/10 for hopefully my 3rd fill. I can basically eat anything but bread. I wish this band would kick in. I can't believe 1 girl on here lost 88 pds since August, that is so awesome !!! I am way jealous. I have lost about 30-35 pds since 08/26. Which really depresses me. I lost 30 @ 2 weeks post op. Then 1-2 pds at each monthly visit. 14 of that was pre-op. I am walking laps at work 2 x a day but not getting much other exercise. I need to start making myself workout daily, if I have time to watch TV then I have time to get off my big booty and exercise. I even have a loft with TV, and equipment to use. I am just too tired. My dr told me to try to stop drinking my Protein shake and push food with Protein. But I know I don't get enough in without my shake. My hair is falling out all over the place. So i started back on my shakes this week. I need my hair. And for the past week I have had a headache everytime I eat. Anyone else had this problem? Might be from something else.

thanks

Questions, questions, questions.....

How many fills have you guys had...... and how many cc do you have?

Me (in a 14 cc band):

First fill: 3 cc

Second fill: 2 cc

Third fill: 1.5 cc

Total so far: 6.5 cc

I still don't feel major restriction. I feel some but not a lot. I can certainly eat 1 - 1-1/2 cups of food per sitting if I wanted to.

I am using smaller portions, and a smaller plate.... but I have a hard time not drinking when I am eating. I'm working on it, and if I have to drink, I definitely just use tiny sips... but for how long afterward? I get THIRSY sometimes

I have been trying to drink a lot of Water / diet iced tea right before I eat, so that I won't be thirsty, and hopefully fill up the bottom of my stomach so that the pouch empties even slower. I do find that if I'm thirsty, I can still chug-a-lug Water, tea or milk.

How's everyone else doing??

Karen

What are you eating? Exercising? I can't believe how much you have lost!!! I need your help.

Wow August BANDit's are rocking it! I'm past the 'sweet spot' and excited to see my dr. on Dec 16 for an adjustment. At this point, it should be for an unfill.

I got 4cc for my first fill and 1cc for my second. Since about 7 days after the 2nd fill, I can't eat anything early in the day and sometimes Water hurts. I get a heartburn feeling and a yucky full painful feeling as my food travels downward. I wanted to get in for the unfill sooner, but with the holiday schedule of my dr and my work travel, we had to settle for the 16th. Now, it's been a few weeks and it is getting marginally better, but still some pain with eating and drinking. This has helped kick up the weight loss, but I don't think the dr will see this as a positive side effect!

I'm now at 8.5cc

I'm not sure if I'm at restriction? I definitely have a sliming episode if I don't chew well enough (since this fill, I've had a LOT of sliming/PB problems.... at least 5-6x/week)

I'm still pretty hungry though.... I'm fine during the day, but from 6-10pm, I'm really hungry. Hmmmmmmm.......

I just got my third fill on December 21st, I was at 4.5cc's since November 4th, but no real weight loss however I did lost another dress size, so now I am between a 14/16 when I was at 20/22W at the time of surgery.

It was crazy when I went to see the Doc. because the receptionist told me he wasn't giving any fills because he is leaving town over the week and doesn't have a doc to cover him, I talk to him and he gave me .5 cc which bumped me to 5ccs I think I could use another cc to put me at my sweet spot, however, I have finally started to feel fuller sooner from eating and drinking liquids, so I know I am close. :)

There are definitly foods I can no longer eat which helps because my sweet tooth is mostly cakes and pies and chocolate, cakes and pies are now out, chocolate I have to limit myself or start walking more minutes in a day.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
