Have you named your band yet?

Recommended Posts

I have. I figure that it must be a male band, as no female would intentionally cause me such pain when I eat something I shouldn't, so I have named him " Bernard". He does not like chicken and really hates bread and this is just the beginning. Bernard controls my life right now, but like any new relationship, once we come to an understanding, I will be in control. I just have to figure out his ways and then I will be just fine! We don't know each other that well yet, but I plan to love him forever. This is a relationship that I am willing to work on and eventually, we will become as one.

Oh yeah, my husband thinks I am nuts, naming this piece of silicone, but since this is a very close relationship, I just can't see letting Bernard stay nameless. I mean, I know the names of many folks that don't have nearly as much control in my life, so why not? At least it gives me a name I can yell out when I have a PB episode, right?! :blushing:

You are too funny! Thanks for the laugh. You may have something here however. I have been thinking of it as a "silent tool" but maybe I'll name it now that you have opened the subject.

I too love this idea, I have refering to it as a conscience or a cop, so I think "it" will need a name have a few days to think about it.

HappyHome, you could call it Jiminy :blushing:

I don't know if you get Little Britain (TV show) in America, but there is a cross dressing character on there, Emily. Who is a "Laaady, and does laaady things." I think of my band as Emily because she makes me eat "daintily, like a laaady".:Banane20:

I don't know if Sit N'Sleep is nationwide, but, in case it isn't, or for those in other countries, there is a guy named Larry, who is always selling matresses for good prices. He has a sort of sidekick who always says, "You're killing me Larry!"

So I named my band Larry because, if he causes me pain--which he hasn't so far--that's what I'm going to say.

My girlfriend said that Lary should have a partner, namely the port, so she named her Patty.

I am not banded yet but I too name everything. I plan to call my smaller stomach 'Smidge' or 'Smidgen' (as in I can only have a smidgen of that.)

The band I had planned to call Jesus (as in a Savior) but then decided as a Christian it wasn't probably the best idea.

I'm still thinking about the band name. I know when I do get LB I will say I've moved from 'Lazy Acres' to 'Bandyland.' :crying:

I just love this thread! :crying: It just made my morning.

I will definitely have to think about this one. I agree that we should also name our ports, as our band does have a partner in this relationship.

LOL, Jiminy, I like that .... Or in the spirit of Great Britian.... should I go for Bobby? lets see how rough or gently I need be reminded as to what not to do and we can choose from there:thumbup:

My neice that was living with us for 6 months would rag on my for my coffee consumption, so I would refer to her on the phone as my conscience when I talked to friends... So could be Lydia LOLOLOL she would die if she knew.

ROFL

I thought I was the only one. Mine is named Murray.

It's a really geeky story. If anyone plays World of Warcraft (I've not for more than a year), you'll know the sounds of the murlocs in the game. On days when I'm too tight, my band sounds like a murloc. Mur....Murray!

So..I'm a geek.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
