I can't believe it. I'm through one week of liquid diets with one week left to go and on Monday, October 26th I will be banded!!!! I can't believe I've waited this long & got through it!

The liquid diet has been so hard, I do crave food, but the weight loss I've had so far is worth it. Fortunately, I do not crave sodas like I thought I would.

13lbs down in just 7 days. 7 more days of it to go, maybe I'll be down even further!

I wish everyone on the 26th surgery date luck & hope to see you on the skinnier side

Good luck!! Hang in there!! I wasn't on a liquid diet before my surgery but I definitely was for the two weeks following it. And it was HARD!! But I"m almost 4 months out of my surgery and I'm doing so well. I only wish the best for you. And just when you think you cannot look at one more drop of Protein Shake or one more Jello cup, or one more popsicle, just know that at some point, you will be able to enjoy (healthy) food again. And continue to LOSE weight. And it will all be worth it. I wish you all the best!

I am one week away also. My surgery is 10/27/2009. I start the liquids today for one week. My wife and I go for nutrition counseling today. I am very anxious to get going.

Today's weight: 292

Goal weight: 155

Wish me luck!

I am having the surgery in Morristown Memorial hospital in NJ- its about an hour away from my house. I could have had it in the hospital down the street but i have to wait and that is NOT happening :huh2:

EEKK!! so what have you bought for the postcare?

Jamie - I will be banded the same day 10/26 - less than a week away. The liquid diet is SOOOOO hard, my stomach is constantly all gurggly ughh.

I am freaking out a bit about being put under anesthesia - and not waking up ever again.... those are my most irrational fears. But can't wait to start this journey and know that it's a permanent not temporary solution.

Good luck next week... Keep me posted on how you are doing!

OMGOSH I KNOW! I'm so tired of these Optifast shakes! But I am thankful for the weightloss, so it has kept me strong & strict. Ive not waded from them yet! :crying: Thanks for the encouraging words!! I really appreciate it. No one here knows what its like bc all my friends have always been skinny butts!

GOOD LUCK DAVE! Oh I am through with a little over a week of those liquids. Keep strong, the weight loss and liver shrinking to be eligible for the surgery is way worth it!

Aww! Well I don't blame you. I'm the same way, I'm having to drive quite a bit out of the way to the tune of 40 miles and about an hour's or longer drive! But it's worth it to me!

Hmm as far as buying for postcare, first I bought me some cool new slippers for the hospital! Haha, cause they said you could bring/wear pjs, and if I remember from my Gallbladder surgery, my feet were soooo cold! As far as food and stuff, I am stocking up on Campbell's heart healthy Tomato Soup because its low in calories, has a vegetable serving, and its one of my favs! I was also told I could have popsicles! YAY!

First of all, congrats! I'm stoked its less than a week away, I don't know about you! I am so with you on the diet though, mine is always like.. FEED ME SEYMORE!! haha. Don't worry to much about the anesthesia, I've been under it once for Gallbladder surgery, it wasnt bad, but I'll admit it was a bit scary waking up because you're disoriented. Also I think I passed out before they even gave me the anesthesia because I was so nervous about surgery, I didnt even have to count down haha! :crying:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
