Lap-Band surgery in Korea... this will be interesting

Hi everyone,

Well I am going to get the surgery in 2 days on Saturday in South Korea. Eating will be a challenge because it is very hard to come by Protein shakes etc that can be eaten after the surgery. Any advice would be great as there is somewhat of a language barrier here. I was not told to do any pre-surgery diet or anything. Hopefully everything goes well. I am not taking any ime off work so hope I can make it on Monday or there might be trouble.

BTW I am 5 feet 6 inches tall with a starting weight of 93kg about 200lbs I believe.

Wish me luck :wink2:

Can you order shakes on line? Or do they have any Meal Replacement diet type products over there as those are the same thing. If not then for your liquid phase stick to Soups, juices(fruit & veg) for Protein drink milk. My nutitionist also advised adding things like lentils, chickpeas etc to soups to increase the protein content - obviously you have to puree the Soup to make it liquid.

After your liquid phase you don't need to worry about Protein Shakes anyway. Although using them seems to be a big thing in the USA its not something that is recommended here in Australia. it is perfectly possible to get more than enough protein without having to use shakes and powders.

Hope this helps

I cant seem to find much info for shakes online. It is not something common here unless it had kimchi in it (hahaha). I hope this surgery works I am so nervous and I wonder if it will help with my PCOS symptoms. I wonder if it will work at all with PCOS :S
