Tap walks in, yells 'hello, hello'...hearing nothing but her echo, she leaves again (sad and dejected)....

Awww...Taps! :scared2:

I was studying...I have two classes this term that are promising to cut WAY down on my free time...the first is called "Big Ideas in Science" and our professor seems to think that two hours a day is okay study / review time! :huh2::eek: Hello - some of us have FULL-TIME JOBS!

The other class is Organizational Behavior - again, heavy reading and lots of interactive stuff I have to do for class. **heavy sigh**

On top of that, I've got laundry to fold, I need to wash and set my hair, and I've still got clothes to wash...

Looks like I'll be up for a while yet, but probably not on the computer...sorry I missed ya, girlfriend! :cursing:

MOrning all!

Plain - It is still so far down on my list of movies, I doubt it will ever bubble to the top.

Ebony - Big Ideas in Science sounds like a fun course! Organizational behaviour - bleck!

Kat - thanks for the G4E update...it makes my flabby skin issues seem somewhat selfish.:cursing: Sorry your work day sucked...

Well, time to be working....although I don't wanna. I don't wanna!

I'm off for my pre-op visit with my plastic surgeon, to finalise the details of what I'm having done. I only have 6 weeks to go now, so getting really excited!! I've lost even more weight off my boobs, so I'm going to ask him about some small implants. I don't want little boobs!! I still want my honkers (would really feel something was missing without them), I just want them to sit up where they belong again, instead of these deflated old balloons flapping about on my chest  *shudders*

Morning!

Fanny - how exciting; keep us posted on the decisions and progress.

As for me, it's a good thing I buy cleaners, toilet paper, and kleenex in bulk - my mother is visiting and she and DH are both sick - nausea and headaches....I'm exhausted from cleaning up, and doing laundry. I'm taking today off to tend to the sick and maybe, just maybe, catch up on my sleep....

Well according to the doc, they won't be small implants!! I told him I wanted my E cups back again (only sitting in the right place) and to achieve that, I'm going to have to go for the 400ml implants. I "tried them on" inside my bra and OMG they looked HUGE! Not 100% sure I want to go that big, but it did only properly fill up my baggy bra and that was what I asked for. It's weird to think that when I bought this bra, it was way too small and gave me that horrid double-boobage line. I had to wait a couple of months after buying them before I could wear them and now the cups are only half full *sigh* Not buying new bras at this point though - will wait till after the op and get refitted properly.

There is no way I would go back to being as big as I was before. I have suffered from some drooping, but not as bad as I had worried about---so sticking with them as they are!!! A DD is more than enough....is hard enough to buy that cup size in a smaller band size. I can find tons of 40-48 DD but try dropping below the 40 and they become scarce.

Is another rainy morning---kind of hoping the rain continues today----we have another late game tonight, I would not cry over it being rescheduled!!!

I happened to look down, as I typed, and I sure do need to do my nails!!! Scary!

Better get things ready to go. Will see y'all soon!

PJTP...Hi Everyone!

PJTP: Ebony, that soy Protein powder is called "Naturade". They have it in vanilla and chocolate (I prefer vanilla for my 'berry' smoothies). I get it at Sam's Club

Thanks, Plain - I'll pick some up this weekend to try. Definately the vanilla for me...

So good to hear things are moving forward for you, Fanny! I was considering doing the surgery this year, but after a consultation with a surgeon, I've decided to hold off. Mostly because of finances - there just isn't enough in the budget right now with college bills, and my DD comes first with me. Plus, this will give me a chance to see what I can do with my workouts to continue re-shaping my body, and I'm still about 25 lbs from my goal weight. My DH actually admitted he was worried about me possibly having surgery this year because he's afraid I may be changing too much too fast for my body to handle it. Funny what they will admit when they think it's "safe" to do so...

Hi again! Have fun at the fundraising event - and have a wonderful dinner!

Enjoying the relatively mild weather we've gotten the past couple of days, hoping it goes through until the weekend. Nursing a sore right hip the last two days - think I overdid it just a tad on my 5k, but I've been walking so I don't get too stiff. My DH teasingly says it's arthritis - I'm hoping not! I think I'm too young (at 46) to be dealing with that...

Still getting smaller (not lighter, but smaller) and it's kinda nice, but kinda weird at the same time. Work has been quiet, which is very nice. School has started up again and is keeping me busy.

DH is running for the school board in our community and that's keeping the entire family busy. Whew! I think I'm tired just typing this, let alone living it! :crying:

So are you reconsidering the size? I'd love to have 'the girls' hoisted back where they belong, but that isn't going to happen - Tummytuck is a more pressing need - and that's at least 1 year away.........

I know what you mean on the bra shopping...when I find one that fits and is on sale, I buy multiple..

Nails - you mean chipped, splitting, uneven, different lengths isn't the way they should be???

Glad to hear that work has been quiet; keep your head down and your eyes and ears open for new opportunities to get outta that toxic environment!

I hear you on the PS and delaying due to $$. How do you fell about DH's comment???

OK people, it's Friday - let's just get through it, so that we can enjoy our weekends!

The inventor of coffee should be given a Nobel prize (posthumously, obviously).

Why do I live where there is even the remote possibility of snow - let alone the annual deluge?

How much money will I REALLY need to retire and maintain (make that, improve) my lifestyle and afford lots of international travelling??

In the debate between lower cost or going 'green', which is the right choice? Why can't it be both 'green' AND less expensive?

I feel you on that - I want the 'girls' hoisted back up higher again, but for me as well, the tummy is the priority. I think I'd drop another clothing size or two if I didn't have the 'pouch' sitting in front of me!

I know what you mean on the bra shopping...when I find one that fits and is on sale, I buy multiple..

I've done that too - but my size keeps changing! A couple of the DDD's I've bought recently are already getting baggy. Not a pretty thought...I don't want to lose much more in the chest.

Nails - you mean chipped, splitting, uneven, different lengths isn't the way they should be???

ROFLMBO - my hands resemble that remark as well.

Glad to hear that work has been quiet; keep your head down and your eyes and ears open for new opportunities to get outta that toxic environment!

Absolutely - still looking closer to home...

I hear you on the PS and delaying due to $$. How do you fell about DH's comment???

I was a bit taken aback...I thought he'd be gung-ho on the subject of surgery, but I also think he's a bit worried about the physical effects of so much rapid change all at once. He definately enjoys having a new, slimmer wife and the extra attention I'm getting. He's always been a bit competitive, and he says now he's gotta step HIS game up to make sure I stay put. I'm not opposed to that, but I don't want him to become paranoid and strange about it...

Weekends are MADE for enjoying!

Even though I don't drink a LOT of coffee, I have to agree...sometimes nothing else will do!

ROFLOL...

How much money will I REALLY need to retire and maintain (make that, improve) my lifestyle and afford lots of international travelling??

I'd like to know the answer to that - I'd love to travel more!

In the debate between lower cost or going 'green', which is the right choice? Why can't it be both 'green' AND less expensive?

Agreed! When I was researching a new car, I looked at the Toyota Prius - but it was SO much more expensive, I just couldn't afford it. I did get something more efficient than my old car, but I wish I'd been able to go the full distance so to speak...

NSV...sitting at my desk with my legs crossed at the knee and my leg isn't going to sleep. It's actually COMFORTABLE to sit like this...:)

Never thought I'd be able to say that...I do  my band!:w00t:

Noticing that the room is empty, Tapshoes takes centerstage, grabs the mic and belts out show tunes, and then dressed in a killer danceoutfit, dances up a storm the likes of which haven't been since since Gene Kelly was in his prime.

Exhausted, but ecstatic, Tapshoes, wipes her brow, and leaves the stage................

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

      2. Selina333

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
