Anyone Out There?!?

Recommended Posts

I am going to be a private pay. I guess that means things will move along a little faster than having to wait for insurance. It sucks, but I'll live with it. So have you had any tests yet? Are you just waiting on insurance right now? Or do you have everything to do still? You might have mentioned that before, but I'm too tired tonight to check. I know, I'm lazy. I only worked 14 hours today, so i'm ready for bed. So I'll chat with you later. Good luck to you.

Mysherrijo,

4 DAYS OF SHOPPING IN NASHVILLE!!! Sign me up!! I'm waiting, waiting, waiting on insurance to tell me something as to if they are going to approve the surgery. I was denied about 8 months ago because I had not had the 6 months of supervised diet, now I have completed that and am waiting. How long does it take for the insurance company to decide?? So did you just find out that your son was engaged or are you in the process of planning a wedding? When my daughter got married my ex-sister-n-law, (a great friend) came from NC to help me. Everytime something "screwed up" she would say, "calm down, we are just making memories". My mother was ready to kill her but she was right. We sit back and laugh about all the mistakes and enjoy the memories. Enjoy it and have too much fun in Nashville. They have a Coyote Ugly bar there and the bar people, (men and women) get on the bar and dance. They are braver then I!!

I'll have to check the bar out, LOL, I'm with you no dancing on bars for me, I might break them. So good to find neighbors on here. Forever I was about the only Kentucky person on here and I got to here all of the Kentucky Fried chicken jokes, these people are soooo funny. If you have any questions please feel free to pm me. The surgery is a breeze and so is recovery.

Combsie, I had mine done in Mexico and it was a wonderful wonderful experience. Dr. Sanchez is one of the most if not the most experienced doctor there is with putting in lapbands. He started in 1985 and has done more than 7000. If you would like any info please pm me I would be more than happy to answer them.

Okay, Kentucky folks, let's not be strangers.

DouglasP13, what do you do that requires a 14 hour shift? I have had all my test done, completed those by February of 2006. At that time my doctor's office first submitted the info to the insurance co and they responded by saying I needed 6 months of supervised diet. Now I have completed that. I don't want to pay for this myself but I will if I have to.

Hey PJ! Well, as far as what I do, I am the music director at a church. We had an 8: 30 Mass, 11:30 Mass, and a 5:00 p.m. Mass. We had a meeting in the afternoon for an upcoming retreat, then the youth had the life night that I had to attend. So I get to church by 7:00 in the morning, and I get done by 9:00 at night. Lovely day! Long hours, but not hard work at all. I love what I do. I'm also a private music instructor during the week, so I keep very busy. Anyway, I had a few tests today, and that went well. Lots of fun.

Sounds like a fun position, a full day, (hope they are not all like that) and fulfilling work. You make me feel lazy, I am an 8 - 4:30 person then come home and complain on how tired I am. Hopefully that will stop after I lose 50 or 69 lbs. My husband is on disability due to MS and he does the majority of running for the house. He draws the line at cooking and only cooks (or orders out) 2 times per week. So I don't have to come home to clean and only cook a couple times a week. Yep, I think I am lazy!!

I am thinking of using Caritas. Dr. Lusco. I have been to the Seminar....but was frustrated when I heard that the insurance company would require 6months of doctor supervised dieting...I've done years of it....and now to wait 6 more months seems like a pain. It seems that I have made up my mind, and so they should approve it. Pretty arrogant huh? You would think that the insurance companies would see the cost of the diseases of the obese, and would be clamoring at the chance tp pay for lap banding.

I gues I need to apply, and begin my 6 mos of dieting. I would love to hear from Carmeldiva...she sounds like she has had a great success story.:rolleyes

Hey PJ! Sorry it has taken me so long to reply, long weekend, I'll fill in the blanks in my journal in a few minutes. But I'm back, and excited about another day and another test closer. I have my psych eval tomorrow. I'm gonna cross my fingers on that one, and so am I, oh yeah, me too. Oops, there go those voices again. Oh well, at least I have studied for this test. I even have a cheat sheet. As far as my job, all days aren't like that, just the Sundays, but it's easy work, mostly playing piano at church, and singing. Not too terribly stressful. Well, i'm gonna go do some journalling, lots to write. Talk to you soon.

By the way, my sister has m.s. as well, I know how hard that can get. You are both in my prayers.

Hi, I'm a kentuckian, I'm going to Louisville, just don't know which doctor yet. It's either Allen, or two other doctors at the Norton Pavilon hospital. I'm just now starting. I'm just wondering what my ins. will pay, I have Humana/medicare and since they've changed everything, I'm not sure of anything. But I'm giving it my best. I have a BMI of 45, and sleep problems but no apnea. I have had 4 back surgeries, that has left me disabled. Any suggestions or comments here would be great.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
