I love the please do not feed the DeLarla sign idea...Priceless!

Good going on keeping your momentum up, You CAN do it!

You seem like a girl who loves a good challenge... And Erin is calling you out, perhaps she doesn't know who she's challenging. "And in this corner..."

I got my money on YOU

I gave up my goodies and soda and got sick. Band hurts today - bad enough that I'm on liquids. Haven't done all liquids since January. Had delicious low sodium broth for dinner, then 2 S/F Pops. That liquid filled me pretty tight. I'm most likely dying again (it's a joke, I'm still kicking.) So I'm still clean & need to upate my numbers.

Fortunately I work mostly with my family. There's a few other people here, but they mostly keep to themselves (and all eat healthy and bring in their lunch everyday, go figure). I can't say I'd give in every day if there was an Erin in my office, but I'd probably give in enough to halt my weight loss even more than it's already been halted by my lack of exersize (which ended last week, but anyway). I think that I could ask a person to not offer me stuff, but I'm not sure I have a strong enough personality to beg/demand/yell when she didn't respect my request. Probably until reading this thread, I wouldn't have considered something like that 'harassment' or 'hostile work environment', but now, I can totally see how it could be. But then again I don't think I've ever filed a formal complaint against anyone at the work place either.

I s'pose there's not really a 'point' to what I said above, just mostly to say that Lisa, you are a much strong person than I am, and I'm proud of you for escaping temptation so often when it's quite literally SHOVED right in your face.

I like the idea of a sign on the door that says "No food in my office unless you have an appointment in advance". It's not 'mean' but it gets the point across with a little humor.

Alternately, whenever you make/bake something for you and your hubby and there are leftovers you don't want, just put them on her desk. Maybe it'll drive home the point that you don't even want the extra of what YOU cook at HOME, let alone the crap she cooks in the office. I gotta say, preband, it's pretty possible that I ate as much as this chick does, but I didn't want people to see me doing it, you know?

Sorry your band is buggin you, but maybe that'll make it easier to go day 5 without sodas :).

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
