Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Recommended Posts

Oh no Janie :(

I'm living in denial, I NEED bigger sizes, but I just go around sucking it in so hard I can't breathe. Meanwhile it is taking my doc a week to answer me everytime, and instead of getting to the point it's like "Well we should replace the port" me: "Great, what's the cost?" "We can't do it superficial like we thought" me: "OK, so what's the cost?" "I'll get back with you" me: "Any update?" "Checking with the boss"... etc. etc.

Hey Girls~

Judy, glad you have finished the concert! Now some down time? Knowing you I doubt it.

Larua, can't believe it...ice and rest!

Jane, spoil yourself w/ something (not sweets) to make you feel better. Sorry you are having a shitty week. You are so sweet and funny and I hate that you are having a hard time!

Haydee, LOVE THE SHOES. You are going to be sooo pretty all in white...CAN'T WAIT!

We had a communal garage sale this am at friend Barb's house. We made $120, spent the am w/ friends...and had a nice time. We are taking our $$ to Disneyland next weekend for GAY DAYS!!!

Oh yeah...I registered yesterday to get NATIONALLY BOARD CERTIFIED!! This is a big deal...more classes, more work...what an idiot I am, lol! Best part is it is all OVER by March 31! Glutton for punishment!

Off to rest. We are going out tonight. The gal from the movie might go out w/ us. We had a wonderful night last night!!

Good evening, Violets..

Just back from dinner out with Kris, Nathan, Grady and Nathan's parents. I split a dinner with Nathan's mom and it was just enough.

Yep, PamELa, the concert is over, but there is another one tomorrow. This one is a benefit for St. Vincent's and then, THEN I'm done and can relax a bit. I sang at a funeral today and three ladies from the church said they wanted me to sing at their funerals. I don't think that realize how uncomfortable that makes me feel!!! It's like.. sure.. when you're dead, I'll sing for you. :(

Got the bathtub recaulked so that's one to check off the to do list. I need to steam clean the carpeting on the steps. The yorkies think it's ok to pee on them.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Off to read some and then head to bed. Everyone have a good evening. sleep well.

(((((HUGS))))))Janie!!

Haydee - Love the shoes, did you start trying on dresses yet?

Pamela - You are nuts..LOL but that is a short term thing so shouldn't be too bad.

Hi Judy, Heather... sorry if I'm missing anyone.

Miss you all -

I read The Good Earth a couple times in high school, always liked it.. I assume some of you readers have read it? Pearl Buck..

Then mom saw on TiVo that it was a movie too (never knew that). Made in 1937... I recorded it. Any of you seen that??? I have a really hard time watching old movies, but I watched 1.5 hours last night before going to bed, 1 hour to go. I can't get over the 2 main characters are white people with eyeliner..and they have perfectly asian babies.

Hi Girls~

We had a nice evening, came home a bit early, but met a wonderful couple, had a nice dinner and enjoyed the evening. Susanne won some tickets for a drawing for a Camaro...so at 9 we left the club and went to the casino for the drawing (you had to be present to win). Sadly, we are not driving a new Camaro this morning. But after we wanted to go home.

We got our tickets for the Micheal Jackson movie (ya'll know he died, right?) Susanne, being European, LOVED him. I loved him too, but she was a HUGE fan since the beginning. I am really excited about the movie. Tickets go on sale this am and the movie is only going to run for 2 weeks! www.thisisit-movie.com if anyone wants tickets (just put in your zip code).

I DO NOT have papers to grade today...thank goodness. While I like the new class and the content I am teaching, it is twice as much work w/ papers EVERY weekend (this Sunday is the only Sunday in the whole 8 weeks w/o papers). Soooo, we are running out to the Nike outlet and buying a couple of tennis shoes. Then we are heading out to the commissary, which is about 50 min. at March Air Force base. We need to do some major grocery shopping and stock up on meat, dog food, etc. We do this about every couple months for the staples. The deodorant (Secret) alone is two dollars cheaper, so it is worth our trip.

Then it is home to cook and watch football!

Jenn, you are right...I am crazy about getting Nationally Board certified, but am doing it w/ friends, which will make the pain a bit less...and it will be over soon. IT IS A TON OF WORK...which makes me crazy thinking about it. I was going to do it last year, but needed to finish the other big thing I was doing first:cool:.

Hope Michelle and Mickey are having fun!

Laura, how is the knee?

Good afternoon, Violets..

Another drive by post. I'm off to the next concert in a few minutes. Have to practice a little bit to get warmed up before I get there.

The Bobster will be home either tonight or tomorrow depending on if they give him a different flight in exchange for moolah. They asked him to bid on compensation, so we'll see when he gets to the airport what they are proposing. As it is, he'll get in at 11 p.m. tonight and I'll go pick him up.

I'm draining the pool right now so have to remember to shut that off before I leave.

Everyone have a good afternoon. Beautiful fall day here. The leaves are really turning colors quickly.

Pamela, he did? I am glad they are doing some sort of tribute for him, because I haven't heard of any!!!!!!!!!! After all this time that still cracks me up, that since we were on vacation nobody thought we knew. Then that guy in the restaurant!! Just think if that first place did not have nuts we wouldn't have seen him!!!

Nothing really new to report. Same old same old. Hope you all are having a great weekend!!!! Especially Michelle and her family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah Laura, how is your knee???????????

Good morning, Violets..

It's a dark, rainy morning here. Sure can tell the nights are getting longer. It used to be bright daylight when I got up to babysit Ethan. Now it's the middle of the night!

I got the Bobster home without incident last night. It's a teeny, tiny airport here in Alpena, so no problems waiting for luggage. I guess he had major difficulties in Cleveland going through security. The detector went off everytime it went past his chest. He was taken back for something just shy of a strip search, he said. They couldn't find anything, but he said it was very thorough. They kept peeking into his splint on his finger and wiped it down with those pads they use on luggage.

But he's home now and no more flights till January.

I don't know if I have Ethan or not today. Joe never called. I do have my hospital shift today and then Grady tonight while Kris and Nathan work out.

I hope to get some plants planted today and the old stuff cleaned up and cleared out. I have some transplanting to do too.

Hope everyone has a great day. Be good to yourselves!

Good Morning girlies~

I have these meetings for the next two days and don't have to be in until 8:30, but got up at 4:30 anyway and worked out! I love it! Tomorrow is weight lifting, then back to cardio tomorrow!

Judy, glad to hear the Bobster is home! I bet you slept a bit better last night.

What else is going on girls?

I wont be near the puter today...text me if something big happens!

Have a great day everyone!

Buenos dias mis violetitas (little violets)!

How's everyone??

Laura - OUCH!! I can't believe no one helped you! Like you said, THIS IS THE SOUTH, DAG-GUMMIT! PICK A LADY UP OFF THE FLOOR! How's your knee doing? Post another pic please, I love looking at pics of bad bruises, LOL... Oh and I never read the Good Earth... I'll have to pick it up...

Judy - glad to hear the bobster's back. WOW, I can't believe the deal you got with your phone. Did you have to sign a contract with ATT? Where they your current provider?

Jane - OMG, I'm so sorry to hear about your customer! This is a recurring theme with you! So sorry to hear it. Business is that bad?? That sucks! I know that you fear getting out there and looking for another job because of your size. You shouldn't let that hinder you. You are awesome at what you do and you have a great personality. Have you ever thought about opening up your own place? Might be something to consider!

Kat - my mom doesn't read or else I would definetly get her a book. My dad is a voracious reader and that's who I got my reading gene from. My mom picks up any kind of literature and she's asleep within 5 minutes, LOL. Sorry to hear about your DS. That so totally sucks... How's rick doing? Anymore news about his job?

Pammy - you look gorgeous! Awesome pic! I can't believe that you are starting school again! You just love it... you love being busy...

Jenn - hi! how did your weekend go? busy with your kids activities?

Micheeellllleeeee - I'm sure you're having so much fun!! I was thinking about you last night at 8:30pm when I saw a disney commercial!

My weekend was awesome. Got rested and didn't do much. Had the boys (juan's brothers and cousins) over for a college football game on Saturday. So much testosterone. I was the only girl so I just went to my room and read, LOL.

Hot and steamy here in Houston. Got to spend some time with my sisters and mom in the new pool. I'll attach pics. Oh and to see my New Orleans pics you have to go to my wall on Facebook.

I'm so glad ya'll liked my shoes. I saw them on another girls wedding planning blog and I had to ask her where she got them. I've been looking for something that is cute and elegant but comfortable and this fits the bill. I also found a few more dresses I like...

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
