Sharp little pains on the right?

Recommended Posts

I've been banded for almost 2 months now, and once in an occasional while, I will feel a little, tiny sharp pain on the right side of my midriff.

It lasts a second, and I will feel it once. Then nothing for a couple of weeks or more.

I've felt it 3 times in the last 2 months.

Anyone experienced this?

I get those too, and my surgeon said it was prolly scar tissue ripping from where they stitched the port to the muscle. It started when I upped my exercise routine. I would ask your doc next time you see him or her since I am a year and a half post op and have had time to form scar tissue. Not so sure about 2 months...

hmm im out 3 and half months and only now do i feel some akwardness on the side of my port too!!

i was wondering what it was about. sometimes it happens when i eat and sometimes it just there and im aware of it sorta liek a mild cramp maybe. but nothgn to serious but something that reminds me very much thattheres a port there.

i hope its nothing to be nervous about. i cant imagine its scartissue both of us havnt had the time for that i dont think. i wonder what it is? and i hope it goes away.

Today, I'm starting to get pain in the port area. It also feels alittle swollen. Of course I waited too late to call the doc's office and it's Friday!!! What could it be? Is a pill that's too large stuck there?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
