Ok so i've been feeling a little down because I was losing really well after surgery..now it's been 5 weeks and from my lowest weight after surgery, i'm back up 7 pounds (was more but i lost again...THANKFULLY!)...

HOWEVER here's what has made me feel better...I went to the gym the other day to talk to a programmer for when I get my clearance from my surgeon, and she took all of my measurements. Comparing them to my last visit a week before surgery, here's the results:

Chest: -4 INCHES

Waist: -4 INCHES

Hips: -4 INCHES

Thighs:-1 inch EACH

Arms: -.5 inch EACH

Calfs: +.25 inch EACH!!!!

I am just beside myself with how many inches i've lost without doing really anything besides walking! It's just motivating me to really work hard now...YAY!

How is everyone else doing with NSV's??? I'd love to hear about it!

I didnt weight this morning..purposely... ;) Actually for the past week or so I've been 'playing" around with the same 1 to 2 lbs..down up down up....its like down .8 up .7 down .5 up .6 etc. It was making me crazy. I've been eating a bit more, still on plan, but since i have no restriction..i find my quantity sneaking up.

Friday I went to the beach/vacation for a few days...and I found myself eating differently because of being out of my normal routine. I didnt eat junk or sugar ...just things like an omelet...or larger qty foods. I feel "heavy" today....and i just didnt feel like starting my day yucky. Also, had my first bout of PB'ing yesterday - yuck! Dont want to do that again.

I have been walking with my girls nightly - so while i'm see-sawing with weight....i do feel that I'm losing "inches".

Loss of inches are a good thing..but i'd sure like to see that stupid scale moving! Pre and post op diet got me in "losing" mode - and i want that! Why did i think after the surgery it was all downhill from here???

Looking forward to my first fill wednesday. I have an 11 cc band..and the doctor says he fills about 5cc. I sure hope i feel restriction so i can not be so hungry and not need so much food!

I am definitely losing inches. It is showing more than the pounds. I do weigh everyday but don't obsess. It is what it is. That just helps keep me focused for my own personal goals. I cleaned out my closet for the first time the day before yesterday and it felt great! I tried everything on first because I just wasn't sure how some things would fit. Some of the clothes were like a tent on me! It was such a good feeling. My hubby took me to Goodwill the next day and I got rid of them. I didn't even want them around. I was afraid I would keep them as a crutch to lean on. Now, I don't have one.

Howdy! I had my surgery on 6/8/09, first fill on 7/7, and second fill on 8/13. As of my second fill (including pre-op diet), I have lost 41lbs and 39.5 inches! I am a teacher and had my surgery as soon as school was finished. School just started last week. My colleagues were blown away! My best NSV so far came when a little girl I had last year as a student came up to give me a hug on the first day of school and she said, "Gee, Mrs. O I can put my arms all the way around you!" :)

that's awesome sweetbean!

It's great to hear compliments, but is anyone else finding it hard to accept some of them? Now that i've hit a standstill, i tend to not believe people when they see me and go "omg you are just shrinking"....i mean, thanks, but I'm just not seeing it myself at the moment...i feel frozen...just glad that my fill is this thursday so it can kickstart again!

I know what you mean, Barbie. People tell me they can see it in my face, and I can't so I wonder if they are just trying to be nice or are really sincere. I've only lost a total of 33 pounds (I say only because I still have over 100 pounds to go) so while I'm happy with my progress, I don't see myself as having changed all that much.

congrats to all on the NSV's! :blushing:

My scale has come to a grinding halt for about 3 weeks now and I was getting somewhat frustrated.

I went in for my third fill today (4th if you count initial fill during surgery) and got another 1cc in my band. When I did all my weigh ins the scale showed exactly the same as it had been 2 weeks earlier. My doctor is very aggressive about fills, I am at 9.9cc in my 14cc band, and not quite there when it comes to restriction yet. Here's hoping this last 1cc will make a difference.

however.. the scale makes you stand there.. skin to metal contact and measures other stuff as well. It said I had lost an additional 1.8% of my body fat (6lbs of body fat gone) and that I actually had been loosing very well, but my body was holding onto 25lbs of Water weight. (not sure what this is about, they want to wait and see if it goes down)

So I guess.. since I was getting frustrated about not seeing the scale budge despite eating well, and exercising a lot.. That i got a tiny bit of good news at the office today!

Here are my latest NSV's -

I now sleep through the night instead of getting up multiple times to use the restroom.

I can wear a size 18 down from a 20 or 22.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
