I hear lots of people talking about fitday.com, and it is great I've used it many times before. However, if you happen to have a I-phone there is an application called Lose It. It' pretty good and I always have my phone with me to update what I'm putting in my mouth. It even tracks the nutritional info like fit day and allows you to set goals. I bought it a while back I think it was .99 cents but it may have been a little more. Well worth it!

I also use Lose It! for the iPhone and it's ok. The only thing I don't really like is that they need to update their food database, it's amazing how many national brand foods aren't in there or they are wrong!

It's a very simple program, which I like. Fit Day was somewhat overwhelming to me with all the information.

Downloaded the app ! it's great but I agree that they do need to update the food database and btw now it's a free download.

Thanks for the tip !

I use Lose It as well....... generally, when it comes to foods, I just use "create new food" so I can control what the nutritional values are. Agreed...... the database is lacking.

I can't believe it doesn't have popcicles of ANY kind in it! Sheesh!

I used to use Lose It when I was into calorie-counting, but I haven't used it in quite a few months. I think I will start using it again after my surgery!

I can't believe it doesn't have popcicles of ANY kind in it! Sheesh!

How weird is that? Mine had 3 or 4 different versions of SF popcicles, but all the nutritional values were wrong. I agree with just creating our own.

If you want a big and accurate database for counting your calories and nutritional information, I suggest going to Calorie Counter Database - Free Online Diet Program If that link doesn't work, just google "calorie count" and it will come right up. This is BY FAR the best and most accurate database I have seen, and it's free! I even took a course in Nutrition last semester and the software I had to purchase for the class was not even half as good as this website!

I found another application called 8 glasses a day. I helps you track your water! Simplistic but it works.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
