So I had my first adjustment yesterday, I feel fine after the adjustment and all but I was wondering....have any of you used fat burners to help give you an extra boost during all of this? If so, what kind? Also, do any of you have a good Multivitamin to recomend? When I first received the surgery they told me to get a Gummy Vitamin so I got those new one a day vitacraves but from what I've seen they're not exactly packed full of Vitamins like some of the more solid ones out there. Anyways, any help you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I really don't see any reason why you need to turn to fat burners. They honestly have a very minimal, temporary effect. My advice to you would be: now that you have the Lap Band, put those diets and fads behind you and save your money. Follow the Lap Band rules and you will no longer need that stuff.

I agree about the Vita-Craves. I couldn't find any with Iron and as a woman I need it. I am using Centrum chewables and Caltrate plus D.

True, I guess I'm just excited about losing and was thinking it would help give an even bigger push. I see what you mean though, there really doesn't seem like there's much of a point, the band will work just fine without. Congrats on your milestones though! I hope to be as successful as you soon enough.

I bought the Centrum liquid multi Vitamin back when i got the vitacraves and I couldn't stomach the taste so I've been sticking with the gummies but I guess now that I'm able to have solids again maybe I'll give the chewables from Centrum a try. Any other Multivitamins you guys are using out there?

I use use GNC Solotron chewable Multi-V or Trader Joe's High Chewable Multi-V. They both taste ok & contain good quantities of vit/minerals. GNC is clighly more potent, but the dose is 2 tablets, slightly smaller than an alka seltzer. The TJ dose is one tablet, a bit larger, an thicker, than a dime. I used to use Trader Joe's Gummy Multi Vitamins, which I could eat all day, however they are not as potent, and don't contain a lot of the minerals that are in the others.

I use Bariatric Advantage Nutritional supplements - Vita Band Complete chewable Multivitamin and Mineral Formula. It is specifically designed for people with the lapband. www.bariatricadvantage.com

I personally love the Watermelon flavored. Good luck!

me personally, I don't think i would do the fat burner.... How do they put that unpleasant side effect.. "anal leakage". I mean don't we have enough "unpleasant side effects" to worry about with the band already then adding that one too. oh no not for me..

I also do the Centrum chewables but when I was in the States I used a great liquid Vitamin I got from a local health food store. It was awesome! It came in a bottle that you squeeze and it fills up the top, kinda like mouth wash bottles. It has to be refridgerated but that made it easier to remember to take. Whenever I opened to fridge to get milk for my son or a bottle of Water it was right there in front so I would take my dose and go onto whatever I was doing.

id definitely say no to the fat burners. thet do have some unpleasant side effects and can encourage yo-yo dieting. just give your band time to get to the right spot and the weight should start coming off the way you want it to. i know it can suck when its slow at first, but trust me if you give it time it will work

and as far as Vitamins i take a childrens chewable similar to a flintstone, i buy the CVS brsnd and i like them pretty well. i also take the viactiv chocolate chews for my Calcium

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
