Can I have unprotected sex?

Please make sure you really think about betting on black. It's the safer option, for real.

but, but Red 3 is my go to:)

to the OP - honestly, if your not interested in being a parent at this time ... double/triple protection should be paramount.

I'm 7 months post op, can I have a 3 some with Scandinavian twin sisters? If yes, can you fine them for me?

Sorry, bad day at work, had to act out and this seemed like a good target. I'm back to normal now. Thanks.

Absolutely I will get on that

i like roulette - but only in vegas........

I am more of a crabs.. I mean craps person!

Hey this is a really serious situation! Don't ever feel like you have to apologize when looking for real sound advice.

You should really re-think the Scandanavian. I really think you would be better off with some Bangkok Betties myself. I mean, you never know what those Scandanavian chicks might have.

Please make sure you really think about betting on black. It's the safer option, for real.

LilMiss you're absolutely right! I didn't think of it that way. Seriously bangkok betty is the better bet and at only $5 a piece it's a steal!

Oh I took you serious for sure if you didn't see in my post. Protection isn't just to keep you from getting pregnant you should seriously look at the std statistics. You're putting yourself in harms way for life... for someone you have dated for 3 years.

I think the fun we are having is because this is a question that should be asked of the doctor, as the nurse pointed out I believe.

agreed.

if your wise enough to tackle your weight issue - you should be practical in understanding the precautions of becoming a parent when your not ready - few wks post op is not optimal.

most dr's (at least mine) totally suggest multiple forms of birth control for up to a yr post op or until at goal.

take pregnancy & std's out of the picture - do you want to get pregnant a month out from surgery when it is your prime weightloss period?

Really? Now we give sex advice in the lap band forums! Crazy!:bored:

let's see....her thread name "Can I have unprotected sex?"

Her question: "Can I have unprotected sex?"

Did you think she was asking about chicken? Mushies?

Why did you open the thread...just to be snarky?

I really like this forum. I've found some great info and learned some new stuff - about LapBands. However, I don't think I would leave a "LIFE" (as in new, baby life) and death question to people I've never met. Why pay insurance premiums if you can't ask your healthcare provider questions such as these? And I agree with the poster who mentioned that she questioned why you would even take a chance on getting pregnant so soon after being banded. The people on here are great, but to rely on them for this kind of advice....hmm...don't think I'd stake my future on it. (Though I do appreciate when the RNs on the thread make their suggestions. They have good medical knowledge but still advise us to ask our own doctors :bored:)

Happy Banding,

TPG

I think silly questions deserve silly answers.

LU's right I have heard of alot of ways to sabatoge the weight loss but this would be a big one.

You're only safe if you have sex on the third Thursday of the month that the moon is in the house of Aquarius and it's after 8:00pm but not before 8:15pm. Make sure you do it in the Kama Sutra position number 18 and FOR SURE remember to douche with a bottle of cola, preferably Pepsi. Just remove the cap, place a finger over the opening, shake, and insert. The soda does the rest.

You're on your own for the rest, sorry.

Thanks Beth from VA and Brandy for making light of the rediculousness of this topic. LOL!

Sorry Beth, gotta disagree with you on this one. Bandsters aren't supposed to consume fizzy beverages.

You open the bottle let it sit for an hour then stand on your head for the procedure?

Wrong end. DOUCHE with it. Kinda tickles, but only for a minute.

For those who only have Diet Coke instead of Pepsi, there may be a hitch in your giddyup, but don't despair. Check to see if you have a chicken and a weedeater. There's this whole nuther process.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
