2 questions about being tighter than normal

Recommended Posts

I've heard before (I might have read it on here, I don't remember) that your band can be tighter in the morning. I experience this every morning but I don't know why? Is it because I've been laying down? I can't think of another reason. The second question is - I've also heard that sometimes your band can be tighter when you are close to that time of the month. Has anyone else experienced this? I have had trouble eating anything the last 2 days that didn't stick me. I'm very conscious of my chewing and don't drink while I eat either but it seems like the last 2 days I haven't been able to get anything down with it causing me trouble and I should be starting my period in about a week. Any thoughts and suggestions?

I am tight in the morning. I shake is a good Breakfast for me. I do eat cheerios and milk but it takes me 20 minutes to eat this because there is a delay in how it goes down. My doctor wanted to take some Fluid out of the band. I refused. I don't have enough restriction at lunch and supper.

At my last support meeting people were saying if you drink something HOT in the morning the rest of the day goes better than if you didn't drink something HOT. I always have coffee in the morning so I can't judge the validity of the suggestion but I can pass it along. Good Luck with journey!

I heard the same thing during my pre-op period, but I heard it was because some people develop mucus around their band, and the warm liquid helps break it up.

Interesting to know the tightness changes!!

I am definitely tighter in the morning. I can manage mushy Cereal and that is it. Even scrambled eggs get stuck! By about lunch time it loosens up and I can eat normally. By dinner time, even things like bread and steak aren't a problem!

I also agree that I am a little tighter around that time of the month as well.

Don't know why, and it doesn't bother me any so I'm not worried about it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
