Frustrated and need a little support...

Recommended Posts

i know what you mean, my boyfriend is completely supportive, but my girlfriends dont understand why i can't just exercise more... i have a gym membership and go about 4 times a week, it makes me feel good, but i have been in a stalemate, stuck at 275lbs for years... no matter what i do, i can't seem to lose anything and though i eat too much on occasion, 5 days a week i eat really healthy. i have decided to be banded but my work schedule conflicts with informational session times and I can't just pick a doctor out of the yellow pages can i?

i digress...

you know yourself better than anyone else. if you want this to work for you, then my personal feeling is that you can. i've watched my co-worker go from a chunky monkey like me to a beautiful and thin beach babe.

i want that and know i can do it. i have faith in you.

i too have the same story as you and panda and many others here. my husband finaly came around to accepting i was doing this (the first few months i didn't tell him about my inquiries and consult), and when i lost 10 pounds during my 10-day preop, i got alot of "if you can lose weight now why do you need the surgery?". my daughters brought me to surgery yesterday, not my husband.... like i said "accepting", but i still ca't say supportive. my closest friends too are positive for my sake, trying to be spportive, but they all would "never do it".

my support is my dad, daughters and this site... and my absolute biggest supporter is ME!!! i did it for me and to be a healthier more participating parent in the lives of my 4 kids.

do it for YOU, your success is for YOU. the rest, your husband included, will see your success and be proud of you for it in the end i'm sure

:rolleyes2:Dear Frustrated,

I am going to get my lapband in Nov. late Nov. I NEED to get my health back, and my blood pressure down. At this

point for me, I will feel better, look better, and not worry about having the strokes my mother had. I don't know how

it will feel to eat so differently, and I will need support , but I have a chance at a new me. Remember negitive thoughts, are just that and we don't need them. DO this for YOU, not

anyone else, you are worth this! You are the one that will change, and maybe others will do the same after they see you and feel your Joy. We should pray for one another.

Life style change Yes, but change is good and much needed.

Love You. Keep your chin up, and know what YOU want.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
