My name is Jenai. I was banded on 5/22/09 and back in the hospital 6/5/09 with complications. Things are heading in the right direction now and I'm at the gym at least 6 days a week on the elliptical.

I would love to join you all on the mileage challenge to keep things going in the right direction!

Thanks,

jenai

Welcome everyone. Willow and Plans thank you all for your help with the ticker. It's been over a year and I never had one. I was disappointed with my weight loss until I actually saw it in black and white on the ticker. I was very proud of my progress.

Plans I was able to get three tickers. I don't need the third but let it stay so that you can see that the site will allow it in at least some cases.

Everyone, have a great week!:tongue_smilie:

Wow Godshelp! Your weight loss is aewsome. Over 70 lbs in a year should be celebrated. Congratulations.

Thanks for letting me know about the tickers. I will try again to make a third one. As of now, I am keeping track of my miles on a daily calendar.

This is a great idea!!! I'm just getting back to exercise and my surgery is 7/21, so I'm giving myself a conservative first goal. I'd like to join in if y'all will have me!!!

Week one accomplished. 12 miles completed. I signed up for this challenge a few days into the month. Next week will show some better numbers.

Good job everybody!

This challenge really helps me to get it done. Today was my birthday and I wasn't really wanting to go to the gym after work. But I did and this challenge helped inspire me to see it through. Better health is my birthday present to myself.

Thanks!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
