Confession of a lost soul

Recommended Posts

It's been awhile since I have confessed. i havent worked out in about a month now, i have been eating badly for 2 wks and I've been lucky enough to not gain any weight just yet. I'm 2 lbs from joining the 150 lbs lost club and want to recommit myself infront of all of you this very nite. I promise that for the next 51 days till my 1 yr. banded date I will work harder than I have ever worked with the band to lose more weight. i will stay away from M&M with peanuts, I will drink my Water, workout, take my Vitamins and be a good bandster. This I swear to you all....:( man its going to be touch to start all over again..wish me luck

They say that confession is good for the soul... Now that you have made the commitment, why not try some new things to get re-motivated? Maybe a different work out routine or some new foods that you have never tried. I am impressed by your success so far but maybe you got bored?? I can see how that might happen for all of us. Keep posting here and tell us what new things you are doing to rejuvenate your life. This is a major new step towards success my friend. Carpe diem!!

Good luck!! But don't forget this is a marathon, not a sprint. Every day you have the opportunity to recommit! You've done the hardest part already, just admitting to the fact that the party is over, it's time to get back to work. So you took a little "vacation" from your weight loss. So what, you've come a loooooongggg way! You're gonna do great!

I remember a couple months back reading a post of yours and thinking "wow--he's being so hard on himself". You have lost ALOT of weight. You are almost at goal. Sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves--knowing we can't keep that up forever--we end up falling off the wagon. Remember when we dieted pre-band, slipped up and got discouraged and binged until the next diet??? Remember that? At least we don't do that anymore! This is not a diet. It's a way of life and sometimes "life" gets in the way. Don't beat yourself up. Get back to exercising and eating the good stuff!!!

Oh--I know what you mean about the peanut m&ms -- the lady at work keeps the mini packs in a candy dish... I usually stay away, but there are times...

You have done BETTER than most of us on here. Consider the last month a vacation from being so hard on yourself!!! :frown:

Take care. You are already a success story.

Crystal

OMG...I'm gonna keep it real because you and I have a history. So I'm gonna break it down for you right now:

You are an above-average success case for the lap band. You seem to forget how fast you've done this...and how many people would give their left arm to be as successful as you have been.

You may feel like you've gotten lazier or begun to slip backwards, and that's good that you catch yourself before it gets worse. However, you really haven't. You haven't gained anything. In fact, your body was losing weight SO FAST that it probably was happy to take a little plateau "break".

This is not a race. It's a lifetime change and commitment.

Why must you push yourself to lose 150 in one year? Do you even realize how fantastic you've done??? So here...TAKE my left arm...you can HAVE it if you will please pass your success on to me. I'm 16 months out of surgery and have only lost 68 pounds. Do you have any idea how I would love to be in your shoes?

Ok...before anybody thinks I'm being too hard on him...you don't know that I have earned a right to speak to him this way...and he knows it.

Bigpapa2 -

You aren't such a big papa anymore! I loved your confession, and know you can do this!

You have done a superb job so far, and I am certain you'll get back on track for the last pounds.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Bigpappa....

I think you deserve a standing ovation for recognizing what you are doing before you started see it on the scales or in your clothes. What are the chances that would have happen in your pre-band life?

You have already had TREMENDOUS success and you don't get to discount that. I think i've told you before so excuss me for repeating myself, but this is the rest of your life, there is no designated time limit where your weightloss is concerned.

Yes we all have to have goals, and we're gonna be faaaar more successful if we are working toward a goal, but aren't our "diet days" behind us. Instead of killing yourself to make a goal focus on healthy eating and an active lifestlye from now on.

I don't ever want to resent my band and feel like I'm forced to sacrifice....for me the day I was banded my "diet days" ended. Yes I'm more active now, eat less, and pay attention to what goes in my mouth, but I don't evern plan to diet again.

All I'm saying is don't kill yourself or beat yourself up about getting to a certain weight on a certain day....in my opinion that is how the cycle of being fat gets going again. This is the rest of your life remember.

Happy Shrinking (you are a real inspiration to a lot of people)

~Monica

The key is when you fall to get back up again. We all Fall Down but We Get Up. That's the key. You can do it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
