Need some help with the mushie/pureed stage

So my dietician rang today and asked how I was going - pretty good so far and I told her I've been having pumpkin soup which she said I shouldnt but because I wasn't having any problems with it going down it was fine. Anyway I don't really have any clues for the pureed/mushie stage. I have a book that says whatever the family has just have that and thin it out a bit more but I want something more band friendly. My dietician said the consistency should be like custard where it sticks to the spoon but drips off and so that when it's in my stomach it can slowly go thru but I dunno.
Any suggestions? It also sucks because alot of the band friendly stuff I don't like - Never tried cottage cheese, nothing involving tuna, partial to refried beans as I can always substitute for baked beans. So any recipes or anything?
