Tammy

That is frustrating.

It sounds like you have a plan though. Waiting 8 weeks, while it is a pain the butt, it's something to focus on.

You know try to go for those filling foods that are low in calories if you can get them down. Lots of fruit and veggies and lean Protein.

I know we all know how to diet. We are professionals. I don't mean to tell you what you already know. I just want to support you!

Come here and share your feelings often. We'll help you stay focused while you figure out your band difficulties.

XO

Hey Tammy

Keep relaxed I had a band scare at the end of last year. Turns out it was something little that needed to be changed in the way my surgeon did my adjustments. So don't assume the worst.

Speaking of goofy acting bands I'm going again for another fill because the last fill left me with absolutely no restriction when I had some prior to that adjustment. Oh well ......

2 weeks till surgery 2 ... Starting to get nervous

Juli how on earth are you able to last through a spin class? I thought I was going to die!!!

Jeni,

I'm a tough cookie when it comes to exercise. But I'm a big ol' baby when it comes to plastic surgery.

Spinning is actually really hard. Give it three tries before you give up on it. By the third time you'll be able to stay on the bike (maybe not doing the full intensity) for the full time.

Let me say, I just got back to strength training yesterday. My pecs and my biceps are aching! Tomorrow is when I go back to it! I can't wait.

I still think you are nuts!!! i was only able to last like 10-15min and i was dead....

but i promise ill give it another try!!!

So i went for an adjustment today and he checked how much i had in my band before fill it and there was nothing!!!!!

unbelievabl3e.... grrr.. somethimes this band makes me so mad.. he also was very hesitant about giving me a fill when he found out that i was going for surgery in 2 wks.. he gave me somewhat of a fill but not really.. i have a total of 6 cc's in my band.. i feel a slight little something but not the sweet spot.. not even close!!! lol.. but ill live with it.. its better than nothing!!!

ok so what else is going onm in everyones elses lives?!?!?!?

Spin Class has never been something I love--makes my feet and my crotch ache. I found a bike workout that I love though--it's called an espresso bike. It's kind of a virtual experience. You set the computer program for the level and the route you want to take and then compete with the other "bikers" as you try to keep up with your pacer. It's all computerized but you have to actually shift gears as you go up or down the hills. You can program it to be as tough as you'd like. I have a friend who teaches spin and she says she gets a better workout on the espresso--so if you ever see one it the gym--give it a try. I love it.

I just signed on to teach a cardio-circuit class. Today was my first day. For someone who has always been super heavy and was always a "closet" exerciser--this is way out of my element. Who would have ever guessed I would start teaching class at the YMCA when I was in my 40's. The band truly gave me a new chance at life!

Tammy J--You have always been one of my favorites. I'm sorry you are struggling right now. Please know I am sending up prayers on your behalf and just try to white-knuckle it through until this is resolved. Sometimes it is really motivating for me to look at my "before" pictures. Paste one of yours on your refrigerator!

Julie--I see by your new picture that you successfully graduated! CONGRATULATIONS! What an accomplishment. We are all proud of you and thrilled for you.

Mrs. Husker--you are always in my thoughts and prayers.

My sister just got her insurance clearance for lap band surgery. June 30. We are sooooooooo excited! That will make 3 of siblings to get a band since I did!

Hi all.

Um...yeah. Been gone a while. It's good to get a little caught up on what y'all have been up to.

I've had a lot going on this year which has kept me away. Anesthesia school is heating up for the home stretch (less than 12 months now). The beginning of the year was very rough. My husband was laid off from work. Then I found out his drinking had relapsed and he had a lot of trouble from that, and is in treatment. He spent some time in the hospital. We've both been in recovery since then.

The economy being what it is, he still hasn't found work. Luckily it has been time well spent for his recovery. We're getting by, but we really hope he finds something soon.

Needless to say, for a while my band was the last thing on my mind. I was down to about 165, but today I am 172. I had been thinking that this was higher than I was this time last year, but today I looked back at my stats and saw that I'm actually lower, and about the same as I was for the second half of last year. I'm not doing as poorly as I thought, but I do want to start working on getting to goal finally. That will involve a fill (it's been over a year since my last fill) and cutting out the evening sweets grazing.

I'm impressed by how far so many of you have come. Hopefully I can get back on track and get down to my goal. Great to see you all here...

Gwen,

Sorry things have been so rough. Sounds as if thing might be coming together now. School sounds tought enough without all the other stuff. But you are a strong woman and can do it. School will be over before you know it. Keep us post on how things are going.

Gwen,

It is so nice to see that you are back. I am so sorry for all that you’ve had to go through and I hope that things pick up soon.

My5,

That is so great that your sister is joining the band wagon. With your success, it should make it easier for them.

TammyJ,

I hope they find out what is going on with your band. Wasn’t there a talk somewhere about filling a band with a thicker solution. I cant remember what it’s called, but I think it was for leaks. Good luck and keep up the good work.

Juli,

Alright woman, where the heck are the photos? I will have to check your surgery thread. You are still my motivation. Congrats for doing so great.

I do come on and read from time to time just to check up on everyone. I kind of feel like a stalker . Know that I am praying for you all to succeed.

Take care all,

I'll get my pictures up at some point. I'm just not in front of cameras very often.

Jeni,

You'll be fine. You'll heal well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
