RE: Just excited!!!

Recommended Posts

Just very pleased with my results!!!!

Almost 9 months since my surgery and I'm just very happy and excited. Over 70 pounds lost!

Still more to go but now it's the downhill slide.

I really don't even feel that I am on a diet.

I eat almost everything but I guess I'm at the "sweet spot" that everyone talks about. It takes very little to fill me up and I am satisfied.

I'm at 6.5cc fill and I'm sure in a couple more months I'll need a little more.

Best thing I ever did!!!

Why do you think you are doing something wrong?

My surgeon said that I was way above the norm with my weight loss.

The average Lap-Bander should lose 40% of their overall excess of weight in one year.

Example: If you are 100 pounds over weight, then 40 pounds is totally normal in one year.

If you aren't doing that, then you need to be educated in your eating habits.

I don't eat dough or breads and was never a sweet eater, basically carbs was my mainstay.

That's way it worked for me.

I totally watch high calorie "slider" foods.

I try to eat normal foods, which on some days give me problems.

I drink a lot of buttermilk and eat cheese. These are my favorite foods and they are good for you. They are also filling and full of Protein.

I also Jazzersized and did weight training extensively the first six months.

It hurt and was hard at first but I did what I could and now I'm good at it.

Not bad for a 53 year that had given up!

Keep working on it!

Diane

Hi! I am searching for some support from some fellow lap bandees please. I have not had success in losing weight with my lap band yet. So I am just starting over again this month like I am brand new. I am 2 years into this! So needless to say I am a bit discouraged. The only positive I have to say is that I have not gained any more weight in 2 years.

I have only had 3 adjustments. For some reason I had the wrong idea that you only need a couple adjustments. Now I am finding that everyone is different and I should go every month to 6 weeks! I just thought something was wrong with me.

Any way you mentioned that you are up to 6.5 cc. I think the most my doctor has ever given me is 2 cc in the 3 adjustments I have had.

Do you have any words of encouragement for me please.

Thank you!!!

This post has been awhile so I've lost even more. I'll have to post a new photo too.

Right now I only have 23 pounds to go and these have been the most stubborn.

I'm feeling and looking good and I love the clothes and how sexy they fit, so these last few pounds are harder because I'm very happy even where I'm at now.

They will go away in a few months slowly but I'm still very pleased with the results of the LAP-BAND®.

Keep in touch!

You look great. Are you sure that you are the same woman as in the 1st picture? You look younger and very sure of yourself. Congratulations. I want to be like you when I am nearer my 9 months. I am only 3 months out. Great job! Karen

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
