:crying: Is anyone else constantly worried that their port had flipped or their band has slipped?

I just got banded last week and I can't stop thinking about it, today I felt a pop feeling where my port scar is when I bent over and it's been on my mind since. Any one else paranoid or is this a newbie thing that will fade with time?

I was banded on 04/14/09 and I'm paranoid too. I accidently got bumped in the port tonight and I'm wondering if there was any damage done aside from the pain. :crying:

Ladies Ladies trust me right now that port is tightend down! it's not going anywhere! Take that frame of mind and use it. Relax and enjoy this process, good luck!

Like it was said before relax. Being constantly worried is not going to do anything but make you sick. Focus your attention on something else, like finding good recipes , or planning an exercise regimen. good luck on your journey.

Don't worry about the pop. I have had several, and have heard that it is probably just scar tissue. Don't stress about it. You know, stress can make it harder to lose. So like slinderella2b said, RELAX!!! Enjoy the journey, and don't worry.

I have been banded for 7 months now and I also worry but I also figure that a flipping port or slippage is probably very rare or there wouldn't be so many success stories. I've learned to just relax and enjoy the journey. If there is a problem then I'll deal with it then.

Well, If you took care and let your stitches for the band set and the stitches for the port set. Di not lift anything heavyier than 3 lbs. Fed yourself lots of Protein. You should not have anything to worry about. I am 15 months out. i had some Pb'ing from time to time, and upchucking a few times around 6 months or so. All is well. They just don't want you constantly vomiting which causes problems with the band. Once the scar tissue forms around the stitches for the band and port. You are set. I workout 5xweek and do yoga 4x week plus cardio. All is still good. I pulled a mucsle a couple of weeks ago. woriedme, but the dr wasn't. Ultrasound good. So follow the dr rules, chew , chew and then chew some more. till it is liquid. you will be fine. Take your time, your body will adjust as you go along. Good luck to all your new bandsters, enjoy your progress in little steps along your journey..

my port flipped my stitches came out and i went and researched it and its a 2 percent chance. so i wouldnt see it common for people with a flipped port all i can say is its not a hard procedure to fix the port and truly there wasnt any pain afterwards. the reason why it flipped was because i was doing alot of excerising and the muscles i built up in my stomach popped the stitches out. which is good i guess i have a 6 pack under all that fat lol........ but i know most people dont excerise like me so that is why there is a 2% chance. just to give you a heads up they put mesh and bonded it to my muscles so now i can do all the excerise i want and the doctor says i shouldnt have a problem because my muscles will grow around the mesh and i shouldnt ever have a problem with a flipped port again.... hopefully

I too was very worried. The day of surgery, I was having major dry heaves from the anaesthesia. My surgeon was confident that band did not slip. I also thought that my port may have flipped but I'll save you the boring details why lol. Anyway, went for my first fill today and he did have a very hard time finding it, so that scared me even more! But he did find it, so I'm good to go!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
