Lap-Band AP - Large Band 14cc

Recommended Posts

Anyone else get this one?

My doc says it is one of the best and will hold up to 14 ml/cc of saline.

I guess that means I can get fills for years down the road.

I have this band and I have 5cc in the band. My next appointment is May 5th and right now I have what I consider good restriction so hopefully I will not need another fill at that visit.

My surgeon likes the AP bands.

I have a 14cc band with 6.5cc as of today. I do not have any restriction right now. I've only had one fill, so i am hoping to get some restriction on my next fill.

I have a 14cc with 7cc in it. I have had one fill, 5ccs. I dont really feel "restricted", but I am doing well with the weight loss so I have decided to leave it alone until I need more help.

Thats the band I have. I think my doc said my band started with 7cc's already in it, and with fills I've added an additional 3.5ccs.

I currently have decent restriction and have been losing weight great.

I was told it all depends on the size of your stomache when they go in. I was given the standard 10 CC band.

I also have a 14 cc band, surgery feb 09. I think I have about 8cc in there and I am down 110 pounds. I am too brain damaged to move my chain( I will have to ask my teenager). My weight loss is slow but steady. Peg:smile:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
