Welt Near One of My Scars

Recommended Posts

I have a welt near one of my scars. I had my surgery on Jan. 20 - anyone know why I would get a welt near my scar now?

What kind of welt? If you are sure it is related to your surgery, call your doc. Are you sure you don't just have a bug bite, or didn't scratch it or something?

It is right at the end of my middle scar and it looks like a bug bite. I got it during the same time period that I ate something that I shouldn't have. I am paranoid I guess. I don't feel any restriction and I am hungry alot. I ate a little salad and a piece of pizza tonight. Will the pizza hurt me?

You're on solids now, right? pizza may not be a "diet" choice but it's a "human" one. Unless you're allergic to it or for some reason your doc still has you on mushies, you'll be fine! The "welt" is probably just a coincidence or a bug bite; just keep an eye on it! (treat it as you would a bug bite, assuming your surgical incisions are healing well as they should be at almost 3 months! )

Don't feel guilty!

yes, they've all healed well. I know the pizza wasn't a good diet choice. It's the first time I have done that and I feel really bad about it.

You're still operating with a "diet" mentality! It's just food. I personally know "skinny" people who eat pizza, cupcakes, burgers...just occasionally, not daily! Like I said; don't feel guilty, it's just a waste. You'll have "splurges" from time to time. The band is for life, not for a while! You have to be able to cut loose sometimes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
