At what point did you get restriction?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I just had a quick query and whilst I know everyone gets restriction at different times and after different fills, I was just wondering if you could all just quickly say what size your band is and at what filled capacity you think you got restriction.... just as a point of reference and general guidence!!

My band an AP Lapband and is 9cc/ml in size and has been filled once to 4.5cc/ml (had 2.5cc/ml filled during surgery and 2cc/ml during my first fill). I have no restriction!

Any info would be great!!

Thanks guys!!

I have a 10 cc band and am at 5.75 for the last 2 months.... I think I will be here for a while. My restriction is great. Staying satisfied longer.

I think the AP lapband (which comes in 2 sizes) holds either 10 cc or 14 cc?

I have the AP Large and have 6 ccs in a 14 cc band and got restriction at 5.5....pretty good restriction now.

(My doc said they all have "primer" in them and it doesn't count so unless your doc purposely put MORE in, that 1st 2 cc may not do much? he'd know, of course!)

It was only when I got 6cc in my 10cc band that I felt some restriction. 6.75cc was my sweet spot.

I recently got refilled after surgery to 5.9cc and I can honestly say that I'm not feeling a lot of restriction right now. But it still beats being wide open like I was when I was completely unfilled!

I am at 5.5 CC in 9CC realize band and still waiting for restriction (impatiently) can eat anything and have no problems with anything which is not good.

next fill in 2 weeks and am hoping to get some restriction soon!!

Thank you all for your replys. I wish I had restriction but instead I have to fight to maintain my weight because losing at this stage with no restriction is sooo hard!!

I have an AP Small band that I was told holds 9cc/ml but that was obviously wrong as now looking at the lapband website it says they only come in two sizes, 10cc/ml or 14cc/ml, so I guess I have 10cc/ml band which makes things worse!!!

I get filled on 24th April but the nurse said she wants to give me just 0.5cc/ml to take me to 5cc/ml which, from you comments is rubbish!! I will ask her for more and I hop she says yes! Maybe if I go to 5.5cc/ml or 6cc/ml I will feel better!!

Thanks again to you all

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
