Ok I tried the yogurt by itself and it did not give the gas pain, but I did notice today that I had a little bit of gas pain. So I think it is just from eating or maybe a combination of foods. And ass for eating I posted this in another spot but I want to post it here too so I can get more feedback.

One thing that i have been eating is pureed chicken with some salsa a little cheese and a little bit of refried Beans ( i found a use for them...LOL) It is actually really tasty, and when I am at work and people come in the break room they ask me what it is because it smells so good. I am not sure if I am eating too much or not though. What I have been doing is cooking 2 perdue perferct portions chicken breasts ( I think they are 6 onces each) and then pureeing them and splitting it 3 ways to make 3 meals so I guess that is about 4 ounces each. Then I add the salsa, cheese and refried beans. I have been also eating green giant frozen green beans with almonds ( but have not been eating the almonds) and I eat half with lunch and half with dinner and have a SF Jello with lunch and dinner. Does this sound like it is on par with what you guys are eating?

I was banded exactly one week ago and just in the last three days having port pain. I have large ribs and it is under there, could that be irritating it?

Ok gotta laugh at this one....has anyone else been told that someone can see their weight loss in their ears......LOL

Today one of my coworkers commented about my left ear being pierced sasi now that I've lost weight she can see the holes and couldn't before. While laughing abut it one of my other coworkers said she noticed last week but didn't mention it........

How are all the other bunnies doing with fills? My doc seems real conservative.....

Hang in the LM...we'll get to that sweet spot eventually. I've got my first fill tomorrow and I'll be in shock if I get more than 2cc's (0 fill now)...my doc is conservative too...I think he only gives them every 4-6 weeks...slow and steady...

BG- I have an appointment at 4:15pm today. I hope I get at least a little fill. He wouldn't say for certain at my last visit. I can't wait to hear how your appt goes.

Is everyone doing the Independence Day challange? I think my goal is way too high. I'm suppose to be down to 258, I'm 284 right now. Oh well, guess if you're gonna dream, dream big :frown:

I dont know what (if anything) I am doing wrong! I went to weigh in this am and flippen gained 4 lbs! I am being ANAL about what goes into my mouth and am on NO carbs, NO sweets, NO CHEATING! I am going to curves 4 x a week for the last 2 weeks (since my 2nd fill) and I know I am losing inches but no lbs.... Is anyone else experiencing this frustration?

I feel like a broken record here, but, am frustrated. Last week I thought I had turned the corner and got my fill and was starting to see a slow amount of loss. Now, this week the 2 lbs I lost are back on. I'm trying really hard to be aware of what I'm eating, I will admit though that I have not tracked on Daily Plate as faithfully as I did pre band. So, guess I will start tracking again, and see if I am eating too much or too little. I seriouslly think that I went into major starvation mode during the pre/post op diets and my body is very stubborn now to let go of any lbs. Guess we all knew this was a "process" and that it wouldn't happen over night but, geeez can't the scale start to go down just a little. Anyone else feeling this frustration. My concern if it is this hard to get enough calories in when I don't have a ton of restriction, how am I going to manage not going into starvation mode when I have full restriction. Does the body finally reset and start to to lose at a lower amount of calories after it accepts the new norm?

Sorry rambling away here. Hope everyone is having much better success than I.

Just tired

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
