leptopril and other diet pills

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I was just wondering if any of you have tried leptopril or any other diet pills after the lap band to speed up the weight loss? I'm considering leptopril but I'm not sure....What do you think?

Honestly, after working in a pharmacy for 4 years and hearing people ask over and over if the supplements work, I'd say no. I've never heard a pharmacist actually endorse any of these products. I've heard exactly the opposite.

The problem with weight loss is you have to sustain it. So unless you want to take the "pill" forever, then don't.

Further you lose well with the band and honestly if you wanted to lose faster, you could do bypass. It may not be "as" safe as the band, but then neither are many of the pills out there. Just my thoughts....

Britt you've lost 66 pounds in what, 6 months? Girl you need to chill! Give your young little body a chance to catch up with you!! If you are eating healthy and exercising you'll lose. If you really want, try joining WW or doing something like "the daily plate" (it's on the Livestrong web site) where you count your calories and activities etc... there are lots of things you can do besides pills.

Even change up your diet; if you've gotten in a rut (like lots of us do, picking the same foods because we like them or know they are band friendly) your body can get in a rut too. Eat more fruit, eat more veggies, get different Protein etc..

and make sure you are drinking enough Water (just because it's good for you and CAN help with hunger, supposedly. It doesn't me LOL but it does with some)

You've done great.

Britt,

I agree patience is a virtue. You've done really well for yourself and one of the things I preach is that you WILL plateau over and over. It is the nature of the beast. I plateaued for over a month when I was in the 170s and I thought for sure my weight loss was all over. And I just kept doing the right things, and the weight started to come off again...

I'd mix your routine up a lot. Mix up your exercises... and mix up your diet as well... and then just keep doing the right things... You'll get there!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
