Crystal, the pre-op diet sucks. There's no way to sugar-coat it, lol. The thing that helped me the most was knowing that it was for my safety.

The fact that your husband is doing it with you is awesome. That level of support is incredible. Hang in there, and you will be through it before ya know it. Good luck!

High 5 to the beloved ! My pre-op was a high Protein, low carb liver shrink. I got to have lean deli meat 2oz & a shake at dinner or a sandwich with 4oz of meat. It will pass, it is fo your health. Keep hanging, you will do fine.

Thank everyone for your support. I had to call my dr. today I was suffering with a bad headache and the shakes. He said I was through sugar and caffeine withdrawal. He told me to drink a diet soda and chew some bubble gum. It has help with the shakes; my head feels a lot better. I can deal with it now. I know this will pay off in the long run and that is what keeps me going.:thumbup:

I understand you! I am on day 9 of 14 days and my surgery is next wednesday. Best advice I can give you is dont skip the shakes. Try to keep a normal meal time plan. It helps and drink lots and lots of Fluid. sugar free Jello when you feel like you cant stand it anymore will give you a full stomach for a little while. Good luck! and what a great husband my wife is sitting here eating girl scout Cookies and smacking her lips lol!!!!!

Crystal, I am having surgery on 3/30 too. Like you I started my 2 week liquid diet on Monday. I just about killed someone yesterday. I called my dr. and they said I could some raw or steamed veggies. That really helped a lot. I'm much better today. How's it going for you?

Crystal:

You're going through the hardest part. I started to mourn food when I started my pre-op diet. I went from being sad to being bit%%y about it! By thinking about how it was making my surgery safer I got through it.

sugar free popsicles and sugar free jellow saved me from going insane.

It's so worth it in the long run.

Best wishes to you.

I love my band!

Sue

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
