Feeling sick lately

Recommended Posts

Curious if anyone has experience with this...

The last few weeks about every few days or so I get sick to my stomach.. like not puking (feels like it tho!) and not necessarily the other end kinda sick.. just realllllly icky feeling. Tonight it was about 4-5 hours after I ate like normal all of a sudden I got chills and literally felt like i was going to die. I sat on the bathroom floor for almost 30 mins thinking I was going to throw up. My whole body was freezing, but I was sweating at the same time.

Any other time I feel fine, just every few days about 4-5 hours after dinner its like BAM. I can drink Water and it goes down just fine unless its mid-sick feeling then it just makes me feel worse.

Its not like im not chewing or eating to fast and its been happening a lot lately. I usually will take a gas-x chewable thingie but last few times it hasnt done anything for it. My whole body hurts from my stomach to my shoulders my lower back throbs.. its very odd to me.

For those of you who are gonna ask, no I'm not pregnant I had a sudden feeling that was possible so i ran out and got a stick and it was negitive.

sooooooooooooooooo anyone experience this? =/

Definitely definitely negative? I spent days in the backyard holding tests up to the sunlight, trying to convince myself I couldnt see a second line, but it was there, just very faint.

Otherwise, I dont know, I wonder if you're blood sugars are all messed up from eating less or something? Just a guess. Its the only thing I could think of that would make you shaky and sick like that - perhaps a small Protein snack two or three hours after your meal and see if that helps?

I'd see the doctor about it otherwise.

i am only 2 weeks post-op but I am getting the same thing it has only happened 3x but I think i ate mash potaotes really thin but I guess not thin enought and Soup with pastina and it happened then. I am associating it with food differences, But it really hurts and I do sweat I think because of the pain. Today it happened and I am not sure why this time. but a couple of hours a some good belches and I felt better

Hi,

You might have problems with your gallblader I have had some problems with gallstones they are really bad feels almost like a heart attach but I also have had some stomach problems just feels like you are going to throw up but don't try not eating any grease butter and no dairy for a few meals and see if you feel better I know that when I eat to much dairy or grease that I get that sick feeling and it last for several hours then goes away. Sometime comes back the next time I eat the things like grease dairy anf other times it does not. When I had a stone stuck it was hell had to go to the ER I really thought I was having a heartache. It passed and I was better about 8 hours later I was PG so I could not have the surgery. I think next month I will have it take out .

Take care Tracey

I have two thoughts: 1) Is it possible that you've contracted a little flu? Do you have any fever or other flu-like symptoms? You may also have some infection somewhere.

2) Do you have your gallbladder? When people begin to lose weight quickly, gallstones tend to act up and you may be having acute gallbladder attacks. I had these for some time (I thought they were gastric reflux or something else), and during them - you feel like you're going to die with horrible stomach pain that can radiate to your back, sweating, etc. I was often doubled over in pain (for me, which is unusual, Zantac helped). Not until the pre-op work-up during the abdominal ultrasound did I learn that I had gallstones. My doctor insisted that I have the gallbladder removed before I could have surgery because of the very fact that gallstones are aggrevated by weight loss.

I suggest that you be sure to watch the situation closely and call your doctor! It may be a simple answer, or it may have nothing to do with the way you're eating! Hope you feel back to normal ASAP!!!

Sweetie, blood sugar is not about eating sugar. It's about how much insulin your body releases when you eat. Some folks, their body does too much insulin and that causes blood sugar to drop and you get symptoms much like yours.

I just suggest seeing your doctor right away. Don't hesitate on weird things like this.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
