Hi, I am just 2 days out from being banded.

I had Clear Liquids one day and the 2nd day

I am having full liquids.< /p>

I found cream of chicken and mushroom.

It is so yummy. Of course anything would

taste good after being on the pre-op diet I

had.

I seem to be able to take larger drinks of

Water than some people are posting.

I called in and the nurse said that is good.

I am not sure what that means, is it good

that I can take larger drinks?

Anyway, I am measuring out 1/2 cup and

using a baby spoon and fill full with this amount.

Since I am still on liquids, I am feeling hungry

about 2 hours later.

I see the doctor March 13th and hope to

get on mushies then.

I am on liquid Lortab, which does take the

pain away. The only pain I feel are the incisions.

Had my surgery on March 3rd, Tuesday. Yesterday I was having pity parties, but today, I am feeling a lot better. I don't think that I am getting the correct foods/liquids. i have a Protein Shake, but i dont really enjoy drinking it. I drink 2-3 a day, about 6 -8 ounces each time. I have made pudding and Jello, but not sugar free. I keep stricktly Kosher, and some items are not readily availiable. (like sugar free pudding, jello or popsickles.) I can' wait to get past these weeks of not being able to eat real food. This is a huge challange in my life!!! A lot of my daily events are circled around food. glad to be part of this group

Good luck to both of you, it sounds like you are on your way!! My surgery is Weds, the 11th. Im so looking forward to it! My co-worker was like you before her first fill. She said she could REALLY tell the difference after the first time and nervous transitioning to more solid food. Please let us know how it its for you.

Hi, I was also banded on the 5th. Things went better than I expected. I am on mostly Clear Liquids with 3 Optifasts a day and sf puddings. I have some gas pressure, but it is not horrible. I have been taking Tylenol with codeine for pain. I have tried to cut back today. I had a pedi on SAturday and totally enjoyed the massaging chair. I have a follow up appointment with the Dr. tomorrow and plan to go to work on Tuesday. Joann

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
